Anyone hear any of the muppets they interviewed outside Celtic Park?

    Lads saying stuff like

"He needs to hit the ground running"
"He definitely needs to win the treble"

Of course he has to hit the ground running with regards to the league and domestic cups.

No Celtic manager has ever had the pleasure of having 'time' to build the club so why should he be an exception?

I'm happy with this. I'm glad we've looked outside the box and have picked a guy on his style of play and a track record with player development over big spending, rather than going for a name that'll guarantee bums on seats but who'd maybe struggle with the demands of working on a tight budget - the reality faced by most clubs outside the top European leagues.

He was probably the best candidate for the job. Hope he's up to it but feeling pretty confident.

Happy it's someone who hasn't any previous links with the club for a change. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just refreshing to have someone different.

I think Ronny comes across in his interview as a very confident, progressive, intelligent and thoughtful student of the game, and this could turn out to be a watershed moment in the direction that Celtic FC take from now on. If Ronny gets the right financial backing from the board, developes the young players coming out of the academy, sells a few players that don't figure in his long term plans, and sticks to his own game plan, and crucially gets in a No.2 who is on the same wavelength as him and who has an outstanding knowledge of the Scottish game, then yes I can get excited about this appointment.

voted glad its not coyle but was sitting on the fence between that and delighted

Mainly due to the fact that I don't know a great deal about deila as I have next to no knowledge on Norwegian football. so its difficult to be completely overjoyed by the appointment. This tied along with his most important games of the season come so early that if he doesn't hit the ground running the press will heap the pressure on choosing something different from the expected

But I was impressed with his previous record, interview and what he had to say in terms of developing players, and the how he plans to gradually introduce his own style instead of trying to change overnight much like tony Mowbray. He may also have a good knowledge of top Scandinavian players who will be relatively cheap

One thing I would like to know however is the likes of Mcgrain still going to have a place in the coaching staff ?? as I think we should try to keep the likes of him and woods

This is a much more interesting and exciting appointment than almost any of the other names who were being liked to the job.

A young, keen and promising manager is just what we need right now.

Apprehensive, but quite proud we haven't gone for a 'safe' option. If we are to progress we need to make some brave decisions, and this is one.

At first I was annoyed but now that he is in and he does come across as determined and almost wise I'm fine with it.

He does have his work cut out for him, the more I hear the more he gets described as a disciplinarian etc...Stokes, Griffiths and similar won't last long under him unless the change.

    I'm not picky.
First and foremost I'm ecstatic that it's not Coyle.

Secondly I'll give him the chance to prove himself like I would have done with (almost) any manager. Don't know anything about the guy at all, but he seems to be really enthusiastic to get going and has high ambitions. Looking forward to see what he can bring us.

Honestly, I can't believe that there is people who aren't happy with this. I guess there always has to be this minority of negative folk within the support. I am delighted with Ronny becoming manager. The guy likes to play attacking football so it should be good to see.
