TBH....I didnt really know what I thought or felt about the appointment at first!, a huge curve ball I never seen coming and I hadnt even heard of him a week or so ago...however i,ll be there for the ride giving him all my support.

First reaction was who the * is he, and a bit disheartened, but the more I,m hearing I like the guy and he is saying all the right things.

Love his comments about the crowd being so far away we need fast attacking football; that will do for starters. :50: Also love how he isnt scared of firing the youngsters in too.

One thing I am hoping is the positive attitude and response to Ronny in here is indicitive of the general consensus of the majority our fans and they get off their arses, buy season tickets and get to the games on a Saturday.

Can't get my head round this fascination for Roy Keane. As for Larsson he is not ready, Deila may be 38 but he already has miles more experience.

Bit of a contradiction in there is there not, moaning that we wont spend money but then saying we could put a chimp in the dugout and still win the league. I don't see how bringing in a 'bigger name' would make any difference to how much we spent in the transfer market either.

Then again I suppose in our fanbase there is a very large percentage that always need something to moan about.

Take the 1 away from his price and Peter would probably accept it, espaecially with Zaluska and Gordon (possibly) in the wings.

When first hearing the name Ronny Deila i thought WHO, but after reading up on him and listening to his news conference yesterday, i thought we may have unearthed a gem here someone with a good vision and way forward for our club, ok some fans will not be happy but you can't keep everybody happy, Ronny i'm behind you're appointment all the way.

A change is as good as a holiday

Interested to see what he can do,he has a tough job on his bands though

To be accepted he needs to get us though the champions league qualifiers and win the league as a bare minimum.

I'm not delighted it's Deila - as i'd never even heard of him until he signed. But I am delighted it's someone foreign, a non Celtic person and someone with completely fresh and new ideas.

He could be the best or worst manager in the world but for me it's a risk very much worth taking and I'm very pleased and pleasantly surprised Lawwell has made this choice.

i dunno lads ...its a brave appointment. I believe he wont be properly judged until Rangers aka sevco, come back into the spl next year and see how HIS team fares against them . He will basically inherit lenny's title winning side this year and most likely win the spl. The acid test for him is in europe this year, qualifying for the group stages of the CL .

I really hope it works for the lad, im just cautious and not overly hyped as a celtic fan. He has a lot to prove.

There is no guarantee Sevco will be back next year with Hearts and Hibs there, and anyway they might go bust again before then.

Deila and Celtic have to play three possible tricky CL qualifiers at Murrayfield, that won't be easy depending on the quality of the opposition, but I reckon we have the squad + possible new additions to be able to accomplish it.

Which stage in CL is necessary for Deila to keep the trust and support from the fans?

Any new manager needs time and it's not given that he will reach CL when only been in charge for a month or so. One year of developing the playing style in the domestic league might be needed. Would this at all be accepted?

I would be happy with a decent run in the uefa cup - or whatever it's called now. Agree that CL group stages might be a big ask for a new manager in such a short time. Hope he gets a bit of time from the board and fans.
