DEDRYCK BOYATA’S agents have jetted into Glasgow for showdown talks with Celtic.

Representatives of the Belgium World Cup star were invited into Parkhead for a face-to-face meeting with key members of the club board.

SunSport understands the discussions were conducted amicably with both parties looking for a way to end their ugly stand-off.

Boyata, 27, declared himself injured for Tuesday’s Champions League crunch with AEK Athens after missing out on a £9million move to Fulham.

His shock stance left Brendan Rodgers seething, with the Hoops boss insisting the defender was FIT for action.

Boyata’s Celtic team-mates are also unhappy he refused to play in Greece with the stakes so high.

First-team stars missed out on a substantial performance- related bonus that was up for grabs for getting into the £40m group stages.

Boyata did NOT train with the first-team squad yesterday with his future at the club hanging in the balance.

But the stopper’s agents held talks with Hoops chiefs in a bid to break the deadlock.

Rodgers revealed two weeks ago he didn’t want to sell his best defender while qualification for the Champions League was up for grabs.

But Boyata refused to face AEK anyway with Celts crashing out 3-2 on aggregate.

The Scottish champions could now decide to cut their losses with Sevilla, Lazio, Sassuolo, Fenerbahce and Olympiakos all monitoring the situation.

There's no "decision" to be made, he can't (and won't) come back from this.

This goes for all footballers, not just our work shy jonah *. Why anybody would want to sign players that give up the fight so easy is beyond me. They've done it once, they'll do it again and for what pishy reason next time.

If we can get anything close to 6m then that's good business for this clown, although part of me would like to run down his contract and see him rot, whilst bringing a tear to Lawells eyes for not geting a bean for him.

Step it up Celtic and get rid and sign us a quality CB.

Sad thing is that we won’t get near £9 million because teams know he’s on his way out anyway.

Don't care if we get 9m for him or not!

Even if we got what we paid for him the fact remains that selling him asap sets a precident to others players that they can't * about with the club. Until he is sold he should be isolated and forced to train on his own. * send him up the royal infirmary to get treatment for his back "injury".

He isn't injured. Unless I bump into him in which case he'll have two shattered kneecaps and get flung in a canal.

He's a lying piece of *. The * deid to me.

I hope we get the money for him then his legs get mangled in a car crash.

No chance will he want to play for a club who's fans now despise him.

We’ll get about 3m I’d say. Fraction of what we would have but it’s something.

I would also consider letting him run down his contract and stick him into orbit for the next year.

An example should be made here especially for players in the future.
If your not an honest pro I don't want anyone near the club.
