We needed to spend money on a CB in January. Needed it the summer before infact. The board knew it and so did the management. The fans were screaming for it. I am so disappointed by a glaringly obvious dilemma. It’s neglect and mismanagement, especially with money available.

Can honestly say this will work out bad for the agent he will get a bad name in regards to other clubs wanting to deal with him and find it hard to get other players in his stable

Apparently he’s already struggling to get players in his stable. Boyata is about the biggest name he has, that’s no saying much

gross misconduct - sack the * if he refuses to play, yeah will cost us money but we need to send a message that we will not get * about by any *.

Obviously it ain't as simple as that I guess but wish it were.

The blame for all of this lies squarely with Lawell.

Boyata's agent is banging on about broken promises, Rogers even said Boyata was going to weigh up his options after the World Cup. Clearly, everyone was expecting us to bring in a quality new CB and maybe another backup CB, and for Boyata to move on.

Targets were identified and approached, but Lawell has failed to get a deal for a CB over the line. Rogers is quite rightly refusing to let Boyata go because we haven't strengthened at the back. Now Boyata's spat the dummy and the whole thing has turned nasty.

I can understand Boyata being annoyed, but he's shown a disgusting lack of respect and loyalty, to the club, Rogers and his team mates, by making this public just after a disappointing result against AEK. He's put more pressure on the club and his team mates just before an incredibly important match.

It's tempting to say we should take whatever we can get for him and send him on his way. But that sets a dangerous precedent, the next player who wants a move will think all they have to do is down tools and get their agent to publicly slate the club. Allowing that could cost us far more in the long run.

So I say freeze him out and tell him to stay home from training. See what kind of salary he gets offered after sitting at home for 9 months. If he sacks his agent and makes a public apology, then let him move on.

I don't really get Brendans logic on this, every effort should've been made to get rid, as it stands we have an unhappy player on our hands who will be of no use whatsoever because of his mindset.

All this nonsense about we couldn't find a replacement is just ridiculous, i don't believe for a minute there are no other quality CB's out there within our price range ?

What is our price range though, that’s the massive question.

See that's thing, this idea that we cannot sign a CB because they cost x amount is crazy, we've raked in millions and should be more than able to secure at least 2 decent CB's, at least certainly a lot better than the useless diddies we have atm.

He should have been sold and replaced if everything that's said is true regardless of how much of a snake * be obviously is to his teammates and the fans.

This transfer window has been a * shambles all round.

It should be as much as it takes if we're in as healthy a financial position as we're made out to be.

He must've, has to of known the player was desperate for the off and would possibly act up..

It's mental how it's been left to this..

Agree about no being able to find a replacement. It's absurd to think we don't have any on a list that's affordable...or even a name, nevermind list..

I said earlier I would've taken a fee and a possible loan to buy from Fulham in 1 of the positions that needed strengthening. If it wasn't a centre back to loan immediately, the funds released for 1, or 2..

I'd do the same with Sevilla now. They've got a strong squad. I'd sell and try and get a loan to buy in from them as let's be honest, we need bodies in now and don't seem to have many lined up..

BR on Dedryck Boyata: "It would have been great to have had him here, but he’s not and we have to put our faith in the squad of players who want to be here and fight for the result. And that’s my focus, on the players that we have."

BR: "Of course, some of the comments are disappointing, but we’ll deal with it internally. My concentration and focus is preparing the team for what is a big game and a fantastic game for us, and that’s my only consideration at the moment

This lenient attitude with this scumbag is pathetic. Meanwhile Gamboa is frozen out because of wanting to play for his national team in a continental competition. The patience Brendan has with this joke of a player is impossible to understand

Make him train with the youth team or loan him out to East Fife

    Just reading his wiki..

Looks like the kinda player we'd go for. Capped by France. Right back. 27 in his peak. Squad player it seems so would get a resurrection here..

The kinda bargaining deals we should be trying when a team is desperate for 1 of our 'star's'..
