Doctors don't administer the injections. The injections are done by machine and the button is pressed by a state official.

There are no executions in Cuba today. There hasn't been an execution in Cuba for over a decade.

The execution of war criminals after the Cuban Revolution doesn't compare at all with the UK today. It is more comparable with the Nuremberg trials and subsequent executions.

Technically, it is an option open to the courts, but in practice, it has been abolished. The legislation that allows it has never been repealed, but it doesn't come up any more and has been commuted on anyone that had it as a sentence.

The last people to be killed in Cuba were found guilty of hijacking a ferry, and threatening to kill the passengers until a ransom was paid.
