Great technique but he lacks consistency in his performances.

Said previously I don't think he's been at his best recently but that he was always one of our biggest goal threats, which was the same today. I wouldn't go so far as to say he was mince, but hasn't been playing the same passes as he was at the start of the season.

Not sure if he needs a rest or harder training, but I personally wouldn't drop him. Joint second top scorer in league at this stage from his position is no bad.

He scores a lot of Frank Lampard type goals from MF, outstanding finish and I did say before the game players scoring against former clubs happens so often which is why I wasn't too bothered about seeing his name in the starting 11

However as has been said, he's not an 8, he should be played as a 10 or sit on the bench, and I'd have Rogic over him every time, Bitton as the 6, CalMac as the 8 and Rogic as the 10 would be my current MF.

Some strike for the goal but his decision making all day was very poor.

Early on he was in a great position to feed Jota I think it was on the left and took too long trying to shoot and ended up playing a square pass; shortly after he broke out well had three options one either side and Kyogo through the middle and hit a tame shot.

The team played ok today but I am still not convinced him and Rogic can play in the same midfield.

Reminds me a bit of Commons, he’s too valuable to leave out because of his goals and assists but his all round performance deserves it at times.

Good thing is I think he’s growing into the role, his movement and passing was good. It was his decision making higher up the pitch that let him down, ironically usually the thing that saves him.

Commons turned up in Europe and against the huns far more than Turnbull does

He also didn’t a lot more - we have a far bigger selection to handpick from when it comes to Commons

All I'm saying is Commons made a far bigger and more consistent impact in Europe & Hun games (the toughest fixtures every season) than what Turnbull has done in them so far in his Celtic career, I understand they were at very different ages however doesn't make what I said any less true.

Turnbull is lucky Ange seems to have a blind spot for him in the same way Lennon had blind spots for players such as Mulgrew, Brown and Forrest.

Turnbull is only 22 , think people forgetting that , commons was about 30 when he joined us . Thought he was ok today , lot of hard tackles against him as well

Nah he’s not lucky. He posts the numbers for us and makes it very hard to leave him out. There’s not one other player in our team that can do what he done today and I’d say the same for the ball for Kyogo at Aberdeen.

Commons went a full season for us only scoring one goal once, he has a far bigger selection of games to cherry pick whatever you want to make a point with between the two when it comes to individual games.

I did mention the age/experience difference between them when they joined however Petrov was a sensation at 22 for us so I'm no really having this 'he's only 22' argument he looks out his depth in most Europe & Hun fixtures.
Commons and Lennon fell out which led to that poor season however he turned up in plenty of Europe & Hun fixtures which are the games I judge our players in the most to decide if they have what it takes to be Celtic starting 11 players or not, so far I've been underwhelmed by the majority of Turnbulls performances in them, just as I was underwhelmed by Christie in most of those fixtures too.

Got Turnbulls apps, goals & assists stats for Europe & Hun fixtures so far?

I wouldn't think twice about dropping him from those games.

I think some people have been very hard on him. Not been at his best and sometimes seems tired but hopefully just a blip and can work on his fitness. Still comes up with goals like today. Not long ago he was the second coming on here!

I thought he was poor again despite the goal which was amazing. Such a weird player who I've yet to work out really.

His passing and decision making particularly in the first half was shocking. Could've slipped Jota in at around 3 mins in, decided to turn back and play a 2 yard pass and killed the attack, then could've played it go Abada, Kyogo or Jota in that counter who were basically all fee but hit an awful shot instead. I've noticed this kind of stuff a lot from him this season and it's infuriating to watch at times

I hope he regains his form a bit now because this current version of Turnbull kills us in the final third quite a bit. Abada has this problem lately as well.

Aside from that break in the first half and taking it himself don’t remember him really doing anything wrong.

Thought he played well in a different role.

This “he’s only 22” doesn’t wash for me. Not a kid any more.

His numbers (well, goals) are very good. But his all round performances have mostly been mince this season.!

We all know he has the ability but he needs to start showing it more often. And his lack of pace will really hinder him going forward.

Was average . Made a meal of what should have been a tap in and then missed another sitter .

No denying he is putting up good numbers though and encouraging he is getting in the box.
