    * me side ways.

For all the negative around the club and the utter * negligence we have, that's a cracking deal to get £2m back for him.

All the best to the lad though, tidy player, just not the tempo and speed for us.

Getting £2m for Turnbull is the best business this board has done since Ange.

CELTIC are poised to sell midfielder David Turnbull to Cardiff City in a deal worth £2million.

The Scottish champions are tying up a loan deal for Norwich City striker Adam Idah and still hope to add a left-back before Thursday’s 11.30pm deadline.

Despite fellow midfielder Reo Hatate limping out of Japan’s 3-1 win over Indonesia in the Asian Cup, however, Turnbull is awaiting the green light to travel to Cardiff to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.

The Championship club made their move yesterday, with the two clubs now close to agreement on a package worth £2m when add-ons are taken into consideration.

A £3m signing from Motherwell in August 2020, Turnbull is keen to make a last-ditch push for Steve Clarke’s squad for Euro 2024.

Turnbull was nudged out of the starting XI by Paulo Bernardo despite seven goals in 19 appearances, and former Hoops striker John Hartson believes the time is right to go.

Hartson told Go Radio: ‘I think he is (on his way out), also with the resurgence of Bernardo, you have Hatate to come back, O’Riley and McGregor.

‘His game time will just continue to be limited. He is okay when he comes off the bench, and has a few goals. But, in terms of the lad wanting to go out and make a name for himself and build his career again, if you like, I think the best way forward for David Turnbull is to move on because he can’t be guaranteed first-team football.’

If we get £2m for him with a few months left then Cardiff's chairman must be a Tim.

Kelly should get his chance if he's so highly rated

Turnbull has been more than decent for us. When Ange came in he was arguably our best player till he got injured. Then when the new signings came in he struggled to get back in the side. Became a bit of a target for some so prob best he moves on.

Good money to get for Turnbull considering his contract situation but its a big risk to sell him given Hatate is back on the injured list. Will we see the Lagerbilke deal back on now as well then even though CCV seems to be struggling fitness wise?

  13. Sad to see him go as he's been a great servant. But at the same time, in the most cliché and bullshit football lingo way... he just didn't have "it".

Whatever the * "it" even was.

He doesn't really suit us. Good player for someone else I think. Needs to put more effort into his game

I really believe there is a cracking player in David Turnbull and that he has been desperately unlucky with both timing of injuries and the dynamic of the squad in which he has found himself.

With O’Riley, I dont think both could play and MOR is too good not to play, but i think he could be a big hit for Cardiff and get a fair few goals.

Sort of move where you could see them going up in a few seasons’ time, and halfway through his first PL season he scores a belter against an Arsenal or Chelsea, and they’re referring to it on MOTD for weeks.

Maybe, but he’d never cut it in EPL.

His lack of mobility is incredible for a young guy. Moves like someone twice his age.

Doesn't fit us, but if he doesn't fit in an attacking team that has 90% of the ball every game then what team does he fit into? £2m with 6 months left is robbery

Great bit of business if we actually get that money for him. His race here is run.
