That was a good game. 2 sets down and Dobey pulled it back. Half the crowd had already * off after the Barney game.

    Probably a controversial opinion but I'm glad he's out. I think he's a smarmy * !!
He wouldn't acknowledge Cross at the end of the game !!

I think he was absolutely gutted about his performance that he was in shock at the turnaround...He took about 10 seconds then applauded Cross tbf.

He did acknowledging Cross quite sportingly afterwards. Probably didn’t hear him. I love Barney, now whisht :giggle1:

    T-one hour

First up Ross Smith vs Dirk van Duijvenbode. Dirk’s not in the same form as he was last year but they’re both evenly matched and big 180 hitters. This could be stylish.. I fancy Smith to run out a 4-2 winner.

Michael Smith takes on Limerick man William O’Connor at about 1:45. O’Connor is capable of taking a big scalp but if Smith plays like he did in the previous round (75% on his checkouts, 106 average) there’s only one winner and it’ll be 4-0. I fancy O’Connor to ruffle a few feathers. Smith 4-2 Willie

Last game of the afternoon Florian Hempel takes on Raymond Smith. Two surprise packages this year who were both expected to bow out at the first hurdle. Hempel played amazingly against one of the favourites for the tournament (16/1) Dimitri van den Bergh. He came to the board 10 times needing a checkout of 104 or less and took it out 9 times. Smith’s been immense on his doubles too and has a tournament average of 94+. Smith keeps his head absolutely dead still when he throws and seems to have plenty of bottle so I think this one goes all the way.. I’m going to go for the upset. Smith 4-3 Hempel.

    Any Smiths no?

Didn’t see it today but looking forward to these 2 games tonight. Fancy a Kim shock and putting the holder out.

Difference between a winner and choker in this game right here, Price pinning everything he ‘needs’ and Kim choking under pressure.

Kim will kick himself for a long time after that, had multiple opportunities at double to move away from him.
