Good point regarding Roberts. He's versatile so could play on the right when Roberts leaves.

He reminds me a bit of victor Moses from the you tube videos, but he seems to have more goals in him

Is Broony not playing holding midfielder as it is ?

Yes I think Biton is more likely to go than Rogic, however if we get McCarthy plus another playmaker, if might be hard to refuse any good offers for Rogic.

Not seeing the comparison with Roberts' position.

He has played on the wing but I honestly see him being the box to box, high energy passer that Rodgers wants.

what are peoples opinions on the american perry kitchen at hearts.is he better than nagbe?nagbe has five more caps than kitchen, but kitchen is younger and more suited to the defensive mid role.

I think we could do with a defensive playmaker to work alongside Broony so when either of them makes runs forward there is one to cover. Especially in Europe I think we need this extra defensive capability. It's part of the way we can punch above our strength.

I'd like to think we're buying better quality than Hearts no matter what the position.

Rumours over here is that footballing wise he see's it as a great move but biggest issue is moving his family as they're very settled in Portland and he's apparently a big family man.

I am down for him lol. Was a big fan of him when he played for my local side DC United and I would love to see him wear the hoops!

I've been over here for a couple years now, he's most definitely not a defensive player. He's a tricky, quick attacking mid who can also play wide right.

CELTIC are edging closer to a £3million festive swoop for Darlington Nagbe.

SunSport revealed last month Brendan Rodgers had targeted the Portland Timbers star.

And it’s understood significant progress has been made in the Hoops’ bid to land the USA ace.

Timbers are likely to demand at least £3m for midfielder Nagbe, but Celts will splash out.

Nagbe, 26, was given the VIP treatment by Hoops chiefs at the home Champions League game against Barcelona recently.

He returned to the States and is in the middle of the MLS off-season.

But Parkhead chiefs are set to step up their interest, with the window due to open in just eleven days’ time.

Rodgers is keen to strengthen his midfield for the second half of the season.

The Hoops boss also has his eye on the Champions League qualifiers if, as expected, runaway leaders Celtic wrap up the title.

Rodgers does have other midfield options for January, but highly-rated Nagbe remains a priority target. Capped ten times by the USA, the Timbers star has earned rave reviews in the MLS.

New national boss Bruce Arena is also set to hand him an international recall, after he fell out of favour under previous coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

Nagbe is capable of operating in several positions, and has the pace and drive Rodgers wants in midfield.

Was wondering about this. Take it with a pinch of salt considering the source, but I'd like to see him sign.

Yeah I won't hold my breath. He looks good but he sounds like another Armstrong, whereas what I think we need is a Wanyama.

    Hopefully get both I suppose.

From the tiny amount I've seen of him, he looks more like a SS than a centre mid. Could have a midfield of Brown, Armstrong and Nagbe further forward. Though that would remove Rogic, which I'm not keen on.
