I know but your implying we will have someone lined up to replace him. My point was we've had 6 months to plan for Hart and still don't have anybody. What makes you think we are competent enough to have a replacement lined up for CCV for him going now

The very fact that once again we're being linked with another English League inflation player proves what a shambles we are.

Speaks to the utter cluster * that is our recruitment.

There's not a chance in * this kid is worth 15m, just as Idah is nowhere near the 7-8m being quoted.

So it is obvious we've no other options, and are going by Rodgers' recommendations. Because financially speaking, with a good dose of common sense, we shouldn't be anywhere near these overinflated players, nor pre retirement keepers.

There's better value all over the WORLD. We just don't have the scope or capacity to identify them.

Either that... Or it's all bullshit paper talk and we're doing the usual, sitting on our hands, waiting to sell a few more players so we can minimise impact on the bank account.

I would be * livid if we were to spend these quoted amounts on these players. They're nowhere near these values. English clubs, all looking to minimise their English FFP impact by overinflating the values of their bench warmers and "failed" projects.

I think we maybe going the south American route for some players. As rogers( was he not at some copa games) I'm sure travelled there. Some good players when I watched some of the games and the Chilean goalie also

I don't mind being linked to these types of players. I'm a great believer in our squad spine should be made of British or Irish players. Never been a fan of filling your team with players who don't necessarily speak the language or who get what this club is about. I know some of them absolutely do.

I believe we should always have atleast a handful of proper Celtic fans in the team who really get what it means to play at our club and how much our fans love the club.

Why? It's not like we ever spend big fees.

If the board can't scout better players and have to go on Rodgers recommendations that's on them, even if were overpaying.

McGowan claiming he is a key target

Surely he'd cost upwards of £15m unless there is a relegation clause?

I'm not sure he would cost that.

Queue us signing the guy and him forming a partnership with CCV up there with the best we've seen in decades. And this absolute * * having to write his Daily Record article on some other issue he'll be embarrassingly wrong about.

They paid £7-8m. He had a good season despite them being relegated.

Contracted to 2027. I'd be very surprised if he costs less than double what they paid.

Yeah, when you go on their forum, he's well regarded down there as well.

I'd definitely take him. At a large fee of £7m-£10m, I think it's unlikely we go that big this summer but you never know. If he makes it clear he wants to join us, we may see some movement.

We were willing to spend £10m+ on a player last summer, but seemingly failed miserably at both the scouting and recruitment angles. Our financial position has only improved, so I don’t see why we shouldn’t be happy to push the boat out for the right player(s) this summer.

Number 1 target , CB is Brendan’s number 1 priority if you believe it. Would be a record fee , highly doubtful but the fact that we didn’t go in for McKenna on a free would perhaps sugggest we are willing to invest heavily in this position .

It's idiotic to pay a premium for EPL players when we don't have access to EPL money.

I get your point but he's a Championship player, currently. I think O'Shea may be out of our reach in terms of salary but we could pay the fee no bother.

We paid £7m for Jullien pre-covid.

A lot of money, yes, but not like we haven't gone down that road before...

I don't think he would cost as much as people think.. I think Burnley would be happy with anything over what they paid.. dara O'Shea is a good player but is in that ping pong lower end prem/ championship promotion contender bracket. Burnley I reckon would think they could replace him handy enough.. something strikes me there is something in this as the link just isn't going away
