Norwich fans expect to get 8-9 million for Idah while the true worth is around 3-4 million for a player in such a wee team. They wont get that kind of money for a benchwarmer i reckon.

 

If we can get lagerbielke , Welsh , kobyaski out the door for say 3-4 million then sign O’Shea and McKenna for 8-10 million then we are automatically stronger, the way Burnley play means O’Shea will slot in fine , wonder if we could use mikey as a option to reduce the fee

 

Not sure we'd go and spend an extra £5m+ on him when we could probably get Clark-Salter for around the £7m Burnley paid for O'Shea.

Can't see this happening unless the player is trying to force the move.

 

This is the sort of player we need to be looking at. Coming from England so does maybe carry a higher than normal price tag.

Thing is the fact he's young and played a decent season in the prem for a struggling team means when it comes to sell on even if he's not met expectations the sell on is still there for us.

 

Might Burnley be in a position where they need to sell players before they can do any incoming business?

Last year 23/24, they made €107m loss on player trading and this season (24/25) already have a €29m loss due to obligation to buys becoming permanent deals. They did make a profit of €33m in season 22/23. But even taking that into account they would currently be over €100m down over the piece. I have no idea if that is acceptable or not under EPL or Championship rules.

 

Probably issues if they promote again and they get held to PL rules on how much they can lose over 3 years. They essentially need 30m of sales to cover what they have brought in, which they can get but they then have to replace. I can however see our board wanting to get shift of a defender or two before we bring another in.

Agree with all that but I believe there are English football league rules as well as EPL rules on financial sustainability. I seem to recall Leicester being in an argument as to which of the two they should be following given they were in Burnley’s position.

Even still if we are to sign him it would definitely be a record fee so I can’t see it.

I also agree they will be wanting Lagerbielke and Kobayashi at least out the door before signing another centre back. I get the sense nearly everyone there baring CCV and McGregor could be viewed as open to offers.

 

The Republican, who seems to be the only reliable ITK these days on KDS, confirming there's truth in us wanting O'Shea.

Jenz, Abilgaard, Haksabanovic and I think he got Giakoumakis too. Said Starfelt was gone 2 days before it broke in the media as well.

There others too that he got right that I can't remember, guy clearly has some connection with the club

 

Only way I think we could afford him is if Burnley are in bother financially.
