He is a nice young lad from a good family by all accounts, first hand accounts, it’s his management team/agents that take the blame for how this has panned out.

    A real shame.

He turned down a 1 million pound contract and an opportunity to play some CL games and be coached by BR to sign for Millwall. What a * idiot. Total utter clown.

Then sack the agent and get a new one. He has clearly been poorly advised.

Celtic attacker Daniel Kelly is flying to London today for his medical at Millwall after they agreed to bring forward his move to now rather than January, sources have told Football Insider.

Kelly is set to sign a three-year deal with the Championship club after he turned down a lucrative contract offer from Celtic.

The 18-year-old had been free to speak to clubs outside Scotland this summer, and Neil Harris convinced him to join Millwall.

Kelly initially signed a pre-contract agreement with the Londoners that would’ve turned into a long-term deal in the new year, but after negotiations he is now free to join Millwall.

This means he will be available to Harris immediately, with the deal expected to be completed soon.

Kelly had been frozen out of the Brendan Rodgers’ first-team squad and was playing in the Lowland League for the B team

The midfielder has already scored two goals and provided one assist in five appearances this season.

Kelly now has the chance to kick on, as he will be part of Millwall’s first-team squad this season in a deal that will benefit all parties involved

The teenager brings versatility to Millwall due to his ability to play both defensively and in a more attacking midfield role.

not really that bothered to be honest. Obviously would love more of our youth to come through but we all love shiny new singings and the 2 can't go hand in hand for me personally.
Good luck to him hope he has a decent career

Daniel Kelly will have his medical tests done in London tomorrow as he gets set to leave Celtic for Millwall.

The young midfielder is set to leave for the EFL Championship club this month after an agreement was struck to bring the proposed deal forward this summer. It's believed a fee in the region of £400,000 has been enough to get it over the line with add-ons expected to take that price further down the line.

Football Scotland understands the 18-year-old will have his medical in London on Tuesday morning as he looks to settle into his new club sooner rather than later having had the deal confirmed by boss Neil Harris.

We exclusively told you how Bayer Leverkusen had approached for Kelly while the player knocked back a move to Manchester United as he feels the first-team pathway is much more available at the Den

Kelly was bombed to the B team by manager Brendan Rodgers after refusing to sign a new contract with the club this summer. He joins Bosun Lawal in heading out the door while other youngsters may also leave on loan before the window shuts

Given he had chosen to leave its good this is getting done now rather then having him around until January.

Disappointing but agree with how Rodgers handled this.

    Good luck.

Think he was going to get good money here, but no idea how any young guy with a social conscience could go to that scumbag of a club.

This is a kid who has done NOTHING in football and was offered a very reasonable 5 Grand a week by Celtic. But this wee * decided it wasnt good enough and has gone off to * Millwall...yes Millwall. What the * is he thinking.

Please spare me messages of good luck from Celtic fans....the wee * turned down a fantastic opportunity to play for Celtic while being paid 5 Grand a week. If he crashes and burns down in Millwall...you reap what you sow wee man.

Good luck to him. Big decision, but given how poor we are at bringing through our own not really surprising.

    Wish him all the best.

not that poor at bringing our own through he got given a pathway and was in the managers plans but turned down a perfectly good deal. Was in and around the first team getting minutes and involved choose not to continue here suspect he ends up like a lot of players who leave here young regret it

People say there is no pathway to the 1st team but Brendan has been in 1 season and has offered 2 of our more promising young talents the chance to be part of the first team.

Vata - 3rd choice striker who funny enough due to kyogos injury woud be getting game time but he chose to be 3rd choice at Watford?

Kelly - Guessing a long term replacement for Mcgregor in a couple years but has chose to go to Millwall who's manager has already been quoted as saying he is going as a development player not ready for the first team.
