Daniel Cummings

  1. We'd be likely due that type of fee anyway, so it's not anything extra to get him in early

  2. Obviously it's not if the players are getting good moves.

The real problem for clubs like ours is Brexit. Before, clubs were scouting all over Europe for the top young talent but they can't do that now until the boys are 18. Brexit has forced clubs to look closer to home, meaning we're no longer being overlooked.

That being said, go * yourself Danny boy.

Celtic have never offered him a new deal and he's a *

Stay and play in a * league with no chance of first team football or be told you'll play when we need you basically

It does seem like we haven't offered a deal but why has that been the case? I doubt it is just sitting on our hands or forgetting to do so

Nah mate, we can't keep hold of any youth prospects. There's something fundamentally wrong. I.E shambles.

Lazy from the club thinking we'll give them 15 minutes in the odd game

If the club were really that bothered these guys would be getting more game time

  6. that’s not true at all as I said my cousin was in the youth setup and all this speculation etc isn’t true plenty of our younger guys signed deals Turley Ure Roberston etc. they are training in and around the first team need to be better than what’s there or working hard to get opportunities and they will

Ask yer cousin why players aren't getting more first team minutes over pish we've spent 3 million on over the years

  8. This attitude is exactly why we don't give youths a chance.

With the 1 in a 1000 exception, no 18 year old will be better than what's in front of them. And they won't be able to match the senior player, or surpass them, if they aren't given a chance. We need to be better at recognising future potential, rather than expecting the finished article.

Tangent now to just Cummings, but today's team news further highlights the issues.
Cummings seemingly has agreed that deal, so I get we won't bother our * with him any more (not that we did much before). But Murray, who got on the other night, not in the squad and Narwocki takes his place.

Surely to * if Murray was in the villa game and deemed better/worthwhile than Nawrocki, then you keep him in the first team squad for this weekend?

But nah, off you pop back down Murray and see when you make noise to leave, the fans will collectively call you * and poor attitude for wanting out of a club that doesn't develop our own youth.

    100%

A less bloated squad (getting there) with actual decent depth within said streamlined squad(not remotely close to it), would allow more youth talent to get a step up to the match day squad and having one come in every so often not seem like such a drastic drop in standards.

  11. because fans are so fickle and they want signings instead of youth players coming through perfect example everyone clamouring for a new striker instead of trusting the youth players coming through

    Glad we've established that

  13. Everyone is wanting a new striker instead of putting faith in the youth can’t have it both ways want youth to get a chance but want to sign someone to replace Kyogo instead of giving them a chance club and board get hammered for not signing someone so can’t have both ways. If we want to give youth a chance then don’t moan if we don’t sign someone gives them the opportunity

  14. With the sale of kyogo and the chance of no replacement coming in it opens up an avenue for him to get some game time

A young striker who's scored more goals than Kyogo and Idah combined this season

Giving them 15 minutes isn't going to convince these young guys to start

    A token gesture

  16. that’s because fans want to sign a ready made striker instead of giving youth a chance as I said the board get hammered if they don’t sign a striker when they have one coming through. So what do you want? Them to get a chance or a ready made striker instead?

Ajax and the likes have done just fine without spending big money on a striker

Like I said if we want young players to stop giving them a 15 minute run out actually give them a * chance not a silly wee token gesture

  18. you didn’t answer my question what do you want us to give them a chance or spend money on a striker as if our plan was to give the youth a chance I’d be personally all for it!

  19. Cummings won't amount to any more than tony Watt in the grand scheme of things. Best of luck to him
