He’s experienced and a solid enough option that can cover several positions, makes sense in a lot of ways but no idea how good he is.

At that age if he was playing well we’d have no chance of getting him, this is the tricky part of trying to get experienced players in with any quality.

 

I recall reading about him when we were linked last year. He was a Wanyama type centre midfielder for Copenhagen, powerful, mobile and highly rated.

Leicester signed him and he got a bad injury which kept him out for a long time and when he came back largely played as a bit part player and seemed to move back to playing in defence. I am not sure if he has the mobility post injury for playing in the defensive midfield position these days?

In terms of signing him from Besiktas, if we are actually interested it will be for nothing like £3-4m, more likely a nominal fee as it doesn’t sound like he had done well there or is getting a game regularly but on big money.

At the end of the day Rodgers will know what he can do having managed him for a few seasons and he knows what we have in our squad currently.

So if he brings him in you would hope he felt he could offer something more than what we currently have.

As said before. If he come to earn a payday, which no one do to scotland these days, he will be *. If he comes to get back to his best under a manager most players see as a class manager, he will be a fantastic player and exactly what we need.
