This is the kind of luck he is having.

Also really unlucky with his shot just after the first goal.

He’s working hard. It will eventually pay off.

He's not a natural centre forward kyogos runs are so much more intelligent than his against packed defences too. He very rarely gets the chance to use his pace to isolate defenders, run at goal and get a shot in.

Think he's gonna be a pler when we get some players that are up to speed with him. Be good to see what he's like after a pre-season.

I think it's unfortunate for him that he's came into the team when it's not really clicking for us. He should have more goals through sheer work rate but he's had really poor service.

That said, his general play and touch could vastly improve so perhaps he's contributing to the overall poor team performance.

he was much better last night. His pressing was brilliant and he was being intelligent with it not just running round aimlessly, he was cutting off passing lanes and actually using his pace to his advantage. Goals will come for him I'm sure of it. Would still go with GG against Livi if fit though just purely because we know what type of game it's going to be

Thought he done well, made some good runs but just doesn’t have that poachers instinct in the box. Definitely more of a striker for counter attacking teams.

In saying that, we definitely haven’t seen anywhere near his best. GG was getting pelters for months until he was fully fit, Maeda just finished a full season and you can see the fatigue in terms of his touch and sharpness in front of goal. Same goes for Hatate.

Needs more time. I really like his attitude and his effort levels, you could see their defence were panicking when they received it as he was swarming. First touch needs worked on but some of his runs are bang on, just not picked out. Think he benefits playing off a GG type, but also think if his press is matched by others, he will get more joy in broken play.

Probably someone already mentioned it, but thought Jackie McNamara at half time summarized him, a great asset but he's not typically taking positions to score goals, he used extremes of Henrik to make his point, but he was right, watching him in the second half he would be often not be in a position to score, so no natural poacher at the moment.
Not sure exactly where he played with his club in Japan, but don't think he was a central striker, so he's trying to do all for us at moment.

Love the player, he is scary quick almost would not matter where he plays upfront, a nightmare for their defense and for 90 minutes. He'll leave spaces for others to score.

CELTIC manager Ange Postecoglou has defended the contribution of Daizen Maeda amid a rush to judgement on the Japanese forward.

There has been some criticism directed towards Maeda on the back of recent performances but the Greek-Australian was keen to highlight the work-rate of the internationalist.

“I thought he was outstanding the other night - his defensive work was terrific,” he said.

“People look for different things but I know what I get from Daizen and why I brought him to this club.

“A lot of people don’t see the work he does. The reason why St Mirren got nowhere near our penalty box was because Daizen was constantly pressuring their goalkeeper who is great with his feet.

“Every player has a role within the team. Sometimes you don’t get all the headlines but within the four walls at Celtic Park, he gets his due recognition.”

    He's a moneyball signing.

Currently, he's raw, not fully acclimated to Scotland, and played a string of games in a team not at its best. However, his workrate, speed off the ball, and constant runs means he's always finding himself in dangerous areas. The law of averages with this guy indicates he'll get you goals fairly regularly if he keeps playing the game he does.

He's a pressing machine. Couldn't believe some comments saying he doesn't press much. Does so much unselfish work it's ridiculous

He may be raw but man he's the last guy a defender wants to see when they have the ball.

Is it 6 goals out of 10 games aswell now? Not a bad return.

He shouldve had 2 today. Played good. Getting there, keep the effort up and it'll happen for him.

Bit like Abada early on. Sometimes difficult to see where the end product in him is coming from, and then he scores!!

    Doesn't stop either.

He was the only real worry for me when seeing the team sheet, but he done well.

His effort earned the penalty then he got the crucial opening goal and probably should have had another.

    Ran all day as well.

A good game from the man from Japan.

Pressing was phenomenal as always, but more importantly had more control of the ball which was the thing that was lacking most. Excellent performance and glad he got his goal.
