OK well we'll see how it pans out, I say he'll get plenty minutes at centre forward and will keep on battering in goals. And we'll all be * delirious in May when we land another treble :50:

Not back till mid March I think.

Even another winger coming in there would have made it easier without a striker. Then you'd really have Maeda rotating all the time with Idah till summer.

I'd actually imagine schlupp going left rather than Yang.

Fair enough, I thought he was always generally a winger for us.

But even so, is there not a reason he’s a winger now as opposed to a striker? If that was his first position why wasn’t he kept there?

I’m not saying he can’t play there whatsoever. But it’s not where he’s at his most effective

A large amount of his goals are ones you’d expect of a striker rather than a traditional winger where he’ll beat a man cut in and shoot, plus with Jota coming back it means we aren’t weakened if and when Maeda does go through the middle.

His comment today was a wee bit tongue in cheek regarding not wanting to lose 16 goals from the wing to bring him inside and have to replace them.

We’ve literally brought someone in this window who’s as close to a guarantee of that as we could possibly buy. To that end moving him central as and when required should be no problem whatsoever to the team dynamic particularly within the context of him speaking about wanting his striker to attack the space - Daizen will do that in his sleep for you all day long.

Needs to keep up his level of goals and assists. Going to be run into the ground over the next few months, all across the front line.

Interested to see how often he’ll play through the middle.

He's having his most productive season from the wing, he's nailed it..

Would rather he remained out there..

Will be interesting to see what he does centrally, think he would love it v The Huns.. but against a we'll organised low block, can't see him being effective at all..

Centrally he’d score buckets imo. Would stuggle a bit against the low block at times but so did Kyogo. One thing they both have is great movement and a knack of being in the right place at the right time. Kyogo is just technically better on the ball and a better finisher. But Maedas improved a lot under Rodgers and can only see him getting better. His goals used to always be scaffs and balls hitting of him and going in but now he has some great goals under his belt.

Honestly there’s not much in it between their finishing to be honest. A couple seasons ago Kyogo was miles clear but come the end Kyogo was missing far more than he was scoring. Don’t get me wrong some of Kyogos goals were class but he also missed some absolute * sitters, particularly the last 18 months.
