Know we’ve never done it but was so surprised Rodgers didn’t keep kyogo on yesterday to play with idah up top. (Or if not kyogo trying maeda there). When we could all see the system wasn’t working he just made like-for-like substitutes

    I agree.

i also felt it was worth chucking Idah out left up against Yilmaz and go more direct Samaras style. It was desperation station and I don't think like for like was the call.

But as you say, he'd never do that in a million years.

Annoying too because Rodgers himself said Maeda is his third striker! And we actually signed Maeda when he was playing striker in Japan… we actually turned him into a winger. Although we’re obviously ahead in the league because of how we’ve played thus far, I would like to see us try a bit of a new system. So in these games where it’s not working we can switch between the two and know how to play it well

    Totally agree.

I said after the game that I'd be looking to move Hatate on in the summer or in January if we get any sort of decent bid. He's been an outstanding signing, but I don't know if it's his attitude or whatever, he looks like he can't be arsed.

Taylor isn't signing a contract either, so let's not * about and get him out the door. I think we've more than squeezed every bit of ability out of the guy, especially under Ange, but the left back position is an area that's needed addressed since 2019.

Two new LB's required as well. We're hearing a lot about KT returning, sounds great, but we still need another very competent LB in as we know how many games Tierney misses due to injury.

I'm of the same opinion as you are about Kyogo, he hasn't been at it this season, he was hot and cold last season but he showed up in a lot of the big games, especially against the huns. He needs a big second half of the season.

It's worrying that Idah can't cement a starting position given how Kyogo has been this season. The jury is still out on Idah, but I think he may have hit a purple patch at the perfect time, his penalties, big goals, goals vs huns etc. Maybe unfair as he hasn't been given a run.

I still Giakoumakis, gutted he left. I think it will be hard to sign another good striker who will be happy to be 3rd choice.

We're still * the league, I just expect more when we've got a bench that cost about 30 million quid.

The huns bench reassembled the quality of a St Johnstone or Ross County bench.

Think he should start up top as the striker once we get a new winger in. He's got just as good runs as kyogo, faster and seems to be better at finishing this year. Apparently he prefers being up top aswel.

Said the same thing the other day. He's arguably the best option we have as a striker at the moment

I like him in the middle of a three but wonder if it would force us to lose some of his tracking back if he were the focal point.

Against a low block like we usually need to break down I think Maeda as the CF would make my head explode. Him dropping deeper to pick up and link up play, is something just not him for me. But see in the CL, when we don’t have the ball and need to explode on the counter when we can? Then definitely that’s when I would. So Villa then, I wouldn’t complain. But then it’d probably be Yang left wing. And I’d complain quite a lot.
