Daizen Maeda

An absolutely ridiculous player. Genuinely one of the best in the world when it comes to his defensive work. Technically, aye, he struggles at times, but he does enough.

One of my favourite ever Celtic players. Delighted he got his first CL goal.

 

His end product is shockingly high considering it seems irrelevant, now has 50 goals/assists in 112 games even though, the work rate and pressing and defending are worth him getting a game for alone even if he was doing near enough nothing in attack.

 

* love him even if his crossing leaves a lot ti be desired, he just doesn't stop running.
His goal was excellent

 

The bad news is that if he keeps putting in performances like that on this stage, he's eventually going to garner serious interest. Coupled with his performances at the World Cup, he's building a body of work in high profile games and displaying a unique skillset that certain clubs are likely to find very valuable.

The good news is that anybody who wants him can just * off.

 

Nah we just send his once a game mad cross highlight reel he's ours. Forever.

 

He is the next step in human evolution.

Relentless. Guy is a machine.

 

Missed a sitter with that header, scored a great goal, worked his socks off, some of his tracking back and tackling was off the chart. Was my MOM.

 

He is just relentless, he doesn’t give players time to settle on the ball and knock it around. When we hunt in packs and he’s at the head of the pack it’s almost impossible for the opposition to not be under pressure that they turn the ball over.

I know he cops a bit of flak for his crossing, but if you look at when he’s at his worst he’s normally made 2-3 sprints in very short succession that has resulted in us winning the ball back, you can see he’s gassed for that split moment and his technique comes apart under fatigue.

I love him just the way he is.

There really is nobody like him in world football.

It is like he has been actually programmed to keep going man, like something out the Bourne films.

Actually mental sometimes how he wins headers and actually runs on to them, or goes into 50/50 slide tackles and then just gets up and takes it away again. Absolutely relentless. Be a * nightmare to play against, you'd end up just blootering the ball out for a shy constantly to be safe.
