Mate.. I'm dog * at golf, but every now and then I'll stripe a ball to perfection like a pro. A broke clock twice a day comes to mind..

That ball from O'Riley over the top that gets Maeda in the box only for his first touch to be a perfectly weighted 5 yard pass to a hibs defender.

    Oh my.

Maeda is everything to me and I love him to bits, but why are celtic so * good at finding incomplete players.

We always find players that are world class in 1 little aspect of their game, but mince at the rest.

That ball was class aswel. That's the difference this year. Jota Controlled that and scored (then told he's offside by a camera at the wrong end of the pitch at an angle you couldn't tell...)

    Man I miss him.

I don’t fully agree but these are good points well made. He’s a classic player that’s going to splits opinions.

As above I don’t fully agree but these are good points well made. He’s a classic player that’s going to splits opinions. :fear:

Mate, you’re incapable of scoring that goal.

This is it. Had the exact same thought myself when that happened.

Jota or Sinclair and that’s a goal.

Dare I say even if Palma had that pace on him he'd have scored there as well.

As sure as death is, he'd have been deemed offside as well if he did score as well I'd wager

Centrally. Moriyasu has his critics but he knows exactly when and how to use Maeda which tbh is something we should probably take inspiration from.

He also tends to play him more in games where they are underdogs for his work rate and pace in behind. They don’t rely on him for goals they tend to come from their wide players and central midfield.

Typical athlete with all the physical attributes but no * brain. Amount of times he got the ball just the edge of their box out left and their defender would commit to going the line so all he had to do was cut in on his right and hit it or square it and he’d stop for a sec then go the * line on his left and lose it or run it out of play. The most frustrating footballer I’ve ever seen

Aye so as suspected it's in completely different scenarios and rolse compared to when we need him.

Even the videos of him before he signed most of his goals were centrally in the box with Yokohama or running into a tonne of space on they massive pitches. Different over here.

No doubt about it you saw in the friendly we played Yokohama, their defence was wide open but they played very fast direct football which would suit Maeda. He did sometimes play off the left for them too in a 4-2-3-1 but their right wingers were always more like Jota, tricky wingers who are creative.

I actually think he would make a decent striker in a front two if the other was more a goal scorer.

Dont mind him in Europe purely for defensive work, or even certain Rangers games given the pace of them. Games in the league it seems a little bit pointless at times. Not got the technical ability or trickery to unlock sides.

I was certain Rodgers spoke at the start of the season about using him as a striker.
