Listen he's only really coming back from injury and yes technically he's very limited but as * as he was today he still gave the huns a headache to the point one of them got sent off.

    I * love Maeda man

What a Maeda like game - frustrating, hard working, *, made a major impact on the game and showed why he was still on the pitch, somehow, cos he was also * terrible.

And we lose so much when he goes off. An absolute enigma of a player I’ve just said to myself to just accept it, it’s Daizen.

Honestly man, him or Samaras for frustrating lovable *!?:56:

Because he’s the most reactive player you’ll ever seen, rarely pro-active.

But weirdly that’s also one of his strong points, because he’s constant reacting, constantly right on top of changing situations.

But it’s another way he’s frustrating as well.

He must have a big toe. The reason lenny would always play efe in the centre. So it's no his fault his big toes wonky. Played down the middle once and got them a red.

He worked under Ange but this season he has been very poor, if we get a decent offer for him then sell.

What, don’t even think he’s worth a place in the squad? Can we punt MJ before looking at guys like Maeda?

Is it better to play him on the left?

He is having an off period. He looks like he has lost a bit of his pace.

He puts a lot of work in, but he was wasteful yesterday. His final pass really needs to improve.

There is many in this squad that need moving on, we have lots of players in the squad and the sad fact there is a lot that cannot take the team forward to the next level.

And Maeda’s the priority for you for that?

Thought he was actually playing really well until he picked up the injury, took a while start of season to get going similar to now coming back from injury.

He’s also far better on the left than the right side. We’d seriously miss his pace & workrate in big games, he’s massive for us.

Maeda would be on my list, it seems that it is you that has come to the conclusion that he is at the top of the list not me!

No amount of hard work makes up for his lack of ability. That performance on the ball was genuinely a disgrace yesterday, and I don’t think his off the ball work came close to making up for it.

Aye he won the red card but it comes from a howler from Balogun, not exactly Maeda’s efforts.

A decent right winger rinses that Yilmaz but Maeda couldn’t even control the ball, never mind skin somebody. It says it all when that simple cross he managed to balloon about 30 yards high and wide is a regular occurrence.

Palma showed that we don’t need a workhorse with no technical ability to close down their full backs.

I totally agree. It's becoming harder and harder to accept his deficiencies...

Just back from injury though so maybe I'm being harsh

    This.

I dunno why that level of performance is met with such acceptance by so many. He is amateurish on the ball, its astonishing. Should never be the case for a Celtic winger who starts as many games.

As you say the work rate doesn't compensate foe the amount of times he duffs it out the park from a good position to assist or dribbles it out the park or right into his opposite number. We'd get more from someone who was competent and could turn those opportunities into potential goals. I'd rather that, personally!

You're effectively saying that one side of your 3 man attack is being played because they're decent defensively- that's a bit mental, to me. We don't need that in near 90% of our domestic games.

I even think his work rate is becoming overstated at this point and some fans are clinging onto that as a reason to keep him in. He wasn't that great defensively at the weekend.

He seems a good guy and yes it's nice to see someone work hard etc but I just think we can do so much better in terms of what we need from a winger. Which for me is goals, assists and rhe ability to take on a man and make something happen. Palma has got it tight from many fans but the sense of anticipation when the ball goes out to him and he's shaping up a cross is a lot more palpable than when Maeda gets it wide. Maybe it's just my preference in terms of wingers but that's what should happen when the ball goes out wide, that expectation of a moment of magic. Those are the kind of players I've always loved watching.

Commentators literally laugh at how bad he is. It’s become expected for him to balloon a cross ~100 yards from its intended target. I think he’s a lot better and more comfortable on the left but it doesn’t fix how * * he is.

Such a polarising player because he does bring a huge amount to the team with his work rate and doggedness. Been said a million times before. On the ball at the weekend he really was abysmal. Laughably bad.
