Again proving that’s the type of games he’s built for, they absolutely hate playing against them and he kept Tavpen totally out the game.

 

Amazing as a nuisance and killed Tavernier’s game.

He’s a work horse and will graft when needed. Glad he’s had a good game.

 

Thought he pressed Cantwell really well aswell. Didn't give him much time on the ball. Maeda proper goes all in to the wars for us and that should never be forgotten.

 

His crossing is the worst I’ve seen in a Celtic shirt, by a long way too.

But * me he’s so effective.

I was desperate for Palma to come on but under that pressure, Maeda had to stay on.

 

Truly a unique player. I was thinking he could be retrained to be a fullback, since Taylor isn't that great for BR-s system. Or we just go 3-5-2. In any case, he's like some instant "paralysis" card you play to nullify a dangerous player. Whomever he sticks to, disappears into a black hole. In 5-6 years, he'll be legendary.

He has limitations but he fair makes up for it in work rate and relentless pressing.

I don't mind his wooden legs and insanely bad crosses, when he puts as much effort as he did today.

Frustrating but his work rate is extremely effective.

 

Dread to think how that game would have gone without him covering Taylor's (and then Berna's) *. It's very telling he consistently gets picked before players with much more quality, nobody else can do the things he can do well to anywhere near the same degree.

 

Such an enigma

One minute you’re thinking * me you are * at football. But his pace, work rate, effort and will to win are second to none. He also carries the ball really well at times. He was class. Without him we don’t win today.

 

Hes * sensational at the running, pressing and defending etc. But * me his final balls honking can see why he's used as a striker in japan as his press is world class. It's the equivalent of having 2 men in that position.

 

I’m his biggest critic, and like every game the ball breaks down at him 90% of the time he’s got it.
