Great that these guys are being pinned down on long contracts … and even better that - especially with a new manager just in the door - that they are willing to do it.

I’m not daft enough to assume or even hope they will still be with us in 4 years… but for players with values and desirability in an upward curve it’s perfect business again.

Sounds like BR has slid into things without any grief or upset in the camp…

    All good.

It's a security blanket to cover us if anyone wants our players.

More players on longer term contracts, the better.

He's a workhorse. Every team needs them.

Plug him in and let him run.

Not his biggest fan but delighted he signed the new contract as this will keep his resale value very high.

Didn't think he would get a contract, honestly thought he would be one of the few out the door.

But I'll assume these new contracts are Rodgers work being done now.
Identifying who he wants to stay,, likely spoke in depth with them and everyone is on board for another few years to push the club on.

If we start seeing a couple big signings in the next week or two, happy days.

Says what mate? A heat wave can only be called a heat wave because it is measured against the norm..

Would you not agree that Aaron Mooy experienced the same during a portion of the season?

But you dont rate him, despite the fact at one stage in the season he was probably the sharpest and most dangerous of our wingers.

I can fully understand if you look for more consistency, or even maybe want a player with more technical ability. But to say you dont rate him is ignorant to what he brings to the side. Keep in mind he has held down his place for a majority of the season.

Reading through the comments my man Daizen is sorely under rated/disrespected. Some are clearly blinded by his inconsistent touch at times and using it to undervalue what he’s actually good at.

What I see is a guy that turns up with an unmatched work ethic and desire, particularly in manks games. The sight of him bursting an absolute gut from left wing to break up opposition attacks deep into second halves is one of my highlights of the Ange era and long may it continue. Guy is an unrelenting machine.

Easy to forget as well, he’s a regular first pick for his national team in front of our talisman. In his own position into the bargain…

Heard he's got a wee solar panel on his heid. Just send him out on a sunny day and he will outlast the Duracell bunny.

And some people don’t want a heat wave, they’d want somewhere that’s warm constantly.

Asking someone who wants better “did you forget his purple patch?” seems like a self defeating point in all honesty.

Always thought Brendan would want a week to assess the squad. See where the biggest surgery is needed.

Expecting movement in the next few days.

An engine like his will be invaluable in Europe. Especially when Brendan has him positioned 10 yards further back than he's used to.

I think he'll come into his own next season.

    My thoughts as well.

He's seen plenty of games, but a week to sit down with staff, see training stuff etc and then cement the squad he wants to build on.

The fact these guys who still have years on their deal are signing up for longer than Rodgers, is a telling thing in a massively positive direction.

You’re totally under estimating what he gave us in Europe even though it was a poor campaign overall.

The vast majority of our games aren’t in Europe and he’s definitely had more than just a purple patch, he’s been a key contributor to our success.

Its not at all. If you cant concede that any player can have a spell of better performances than what would be their norm, which any player can experience regardless of ability, then theres not much point continuing.
