His control of the ball has improved significantly, and he holds onto it so often when it looks like it would be easier to lose it. * charging in with last ditch tackles on him and he hits the deck, and still * off with the ball.

 

Proving to be very important for us, plenty of end product, pace, strength and determination too..

 

Pretty shocked he wasn't MoTM. Thought he was our best player by a distance.

 

Im a Maeda fan, but he definitely didnt start the season where he left off at the end of last season.
Im sure his stats and goal involvements will reflect that. He

 

Not just his pace, but his stamina to do it again and again.
When we signed him, i remember reading a stat that he was out on his own in the lead of sprints per game in the J league. Now we can see it here.

He really is some athlete and he has an excellent attitude.

 

Must be a nightmare for the fullback to play against. You know hes never going to stop knocking the ball past you and hes gonna be on your case at every opportunity. Absolutely * relentless. Absolutely love the *!

 

Quite shocked at how much he's improved to be honest. It's rare you see a player at his age improve something like close control and dribbling so noticeably in such a short space of time. He used to just hit and run but he's taking small touches now, guiding the ball round defenders, keeping it in situations where it looks certain he'll lose it.

Amazing turnaround, and all credit to him and the coaching team. If he could just add that bit of composure in front of goal...

I thought he was excellent actually quite like the fact that unlike reo and kyogo, he got angry with a killie player the day started shoving him before reo came in and hugged the killie player to make sure he was ok lol

 

He's a machine and I like that he's got a bit of an edge and aggression that Reo and Kyogo don't.

If Maeda leaves for a club like Southampton I'll be inconsolable.

 

Be very surprised if anything came of this, think GG and JJ will be the only ones out of our regulars to move on this window, everything else will be trying to shift fringe players.

I didn't consider it at the time, but it was kind of inevitable that there would be interest after his World Cup performances. His pressing and the number of errors and general uncertainty it caused good quality defenders really stood out.

It wouldn't take particularly in-depth scouting to see that he's not the best technically, so the fact that Premier League teams are still interested is testament to just how much value the other aspects of his game provide.

At any rate, I doubt they'd be willing to pay what we'd want for him.

Maeda will leave the club in time, I will cry and wave him off as my heart breaks when that day comes.

However of it was a club like Southampton who could very easily be a championship side next season, I will be * raging and will murder *.

His work rate and the amount he's improving deserves more than * Southampton
