    Totally agree. English is very simple comparing to other language,thank * it beat French and became world language No1.
    French is awful to learn.
    Try to learn any Slavic language and you will see what difficult language is.

    :50::50::50::50:

    I think that everyone should speak the language of their country. It is good to speak English as the first foreign language.
    It is more useful to learn French or Spanish... OK, but find me a French or a Spaniard who doesn't speak French or Spanish.

    Well, ask an average German. The nation which is about 50% Protestant - 50% Catholic.
    I think that a catholic German feels closer to a protestant German than Catholic Spanish.
    Religion is not a feature of the nation, and the language is.
    I respect everyone religion beliefs, but the language is more important to me as a mark of the nation.

    I was raised as an Irish Catholic, but having left religion behind a number of years ago, I certainly don't feel less Irish. If anything, I've dug deeper into my history and identity and Irishness, for me, has nothing to do with Catholicism. Ireland had a rich, colourful and spiritual culture all of its own, long before Christanity arrived, and it's this part of Ireland that fires my interest and imagination.

    The likes of Newgrange, Tara, Eamhain Macha, Knocknarea etc. are deeply important places in Gaelic history and culture, and all pre-date Christianity.

    This is what I am talking about.
    A Serb atheist is the same to me just as a Serb who believes in *.
    Religion and rulers change, but the language stays.
