Could be why he plays Callum a lot more than tom I'm not sure I didn't say that was definitely the case what I said was Brendan's not stupid I'm sure he can see Gamboa has talent I think there is another reason why he's not playing him.

 

Would not be surprised given the continued good form of Lustig and the emergence of Ralston from the academy if Gamboa was sold in January. Personally I like Gamboa. I think he has played well for the most part when he has got a game for us but it is probably best for him to move on at this point and for us we can get some money for him and save on wages.

Well I guess we will have to agree to disagree on that one. I think Lustig is still a very good player for us. Excellent player for Ralston to learn from over the next couple of seasons too if Ralston fulfills his promise and can emerge as our right back of the future given Lustig is past 30 now so those thoughts have to be in Rodgers mind.

 

1 thing that strikes me here about gamboa and kouassi is maybe its a work ethic thing in training ,and you only have to look back to
Mulgrew to see br does not accept lazy attitudes with players.

 

He is the one that sees the lads in training every day certainly so that might indeed be the case. Either way at this point it's probably best for us and for Gamboa if he is sold in January.

 

Mulgrew was never under contract at Celtic when BR was there mate

 

Fair enough but I think Lustig looks absolutely *, at least I hope that’s all it is because I love the guy.

 

I wish someone would come out publicly and say why this man can't get a game? There's no way that he cant cut it at SPFL level, we all saw that he can.

Instead him being Lustig's replacement who will make Lustig fresh and healthy for more important matches, Lustig is becoming worse and worse because he can't cope with so many games nowadays.

 

Punt him we can’t afford to carry passengers and he needs to play.

 

Yeh i know, but was trying to win one and blew it according to some celtic bloggs by laughing at a"celtic player staying behind to work on their game " seemungly overheard by the manager .

I'd say its because he publicly complained about not getting a game ,It is weird as Rodgers signed him ,but its all over the pitch we have players who could do a job for us ain't even making the bench when we could be resting 1 or 2

 

Pointless signing in my opinion.

Need to sell him on he is eating away at wages.

Lustig was carrying an injury a lot the season before he came and Ralston too young to slot straight in. I guess he was bought for cover. Remember he came straight into a Barcelona game.

Ralston is now older (though coming back from injury himself) and Lustig seems to be avoiding injury so probably not worth keeping if he is off on international duty all the time.

 

Not too sure about him being bought as cover, usually if we spend over 1m the player they wouldn't be sitting on the bench (Eboue the exception). Also Lustig was injured when we played PSG at home and he started Ralston over Gamboa, which was questionable at the time and even more so when we lost 5-0

 

Hayes was signed as cover for Sinclair - he was £1m.

Of course Gamboa was cover for Lustig.

Well, considering our defence has been a shambles at times, I'd suggest not.
