He cost us what majorly? What trophy did he cost us?

And all that pish about coming off his line? Forster and Boruc were brutal at it too, Boruc is my fav ever goalie, got to a level noone for me equalled but he became a liability in the end with * ups, Forster 6'8 and was a vampire, great shot stopper, made countless mistakes in his loan period at first too.

Boruc is top for me, and it's nip and tuck between Forster and Gordon, I'd say Forster peaked more at times.

Comparing Gordon with Douglas is just as wrong (in the opposite direction) as comparing him with Forster or Boruc IMO.

One of the best goalies we've had in Celtic's "golden age" of having successful goalkeepers on a regular basis.

    Boruc, Forster, Gordon, Hart.

He wasn't * for us at all he was very good for a spell then it went to * towards the end. He had a couple of clangers in Europe against Inter and Salzburg off the top of my head but overall he was good for us. He is very hard to like though

He was definitely directly at fault for goals in Europe. So I definitely think he costs as prize money, coefficient points and general credibility. Inter, Athens, Malmö, Astana. I'm sure there is plenty more where he was absolute *. I wouldn't mind the odd but if *, all keepers have that in them but I never felt he was the guy who could win you a game either.

Just can't take to him, never have.

You could tell right away how much Celtic meant to Hart, and how much everyone here got emotional when he left.

Wasn't anywhere near the same for Gordon, despite staying longer than Hart.

I had a shufty through this thread and came across this wee gem from 2018.

This is what I mean by revisionism. Fair enough you can change your mind, but I maintain that prior to him going back to Hearts, we had a more positive view of the man. He wasn't good enough in Europe but he was never 'absolute *'. That's nonsense.

Not one of us would give a flying * if our player was a badge-thumping, Green Brigade supporting * so long as they were performing on the park.

He was decent for us. A good shot stopper for the most part but his decision making was abysmal, and his ability with the ball at his feet was brutal.

And as others have said, just not particularly likeable.

Get where you're coming from, and I have no issue with guys like Armstrong who never really took to the club. He done a good job and we made a profit on him.

I just can't take to Gordon, he was good for us, but seems like a bit of a * in truth.

If you think he’d of played one meaningful game for Chelsea you’re delusional.

Chelsea always had a bang average 3rd/4th choice in the wings. That shambles of a club wanting him means * all. It’s like Man City having Scott Carson.

They were looking to make him second-choice behind Courtois. Conte had said that he was willing to let Begovic go if he could find a replacement, and then made an approach for Gordon within days. It was a January window decision so maybe a bit rushed, but they clearly thought he was good enough to follow Begovic and stand in for Courtois. I'm not saying that Gordon would have got as many starts as Begovic, but it seems like that was their intent.

At his foot he was poor, but Forster made him look like Ronaldinho, Forster was heart in mouth stuff with the ball at his feet, one of the worst I've saw.

Not that I judge goalies on that anyway much.

Would make sense the move. He seems to love a hun club. Probably this that made him hate Celtic.

Having posted that very picture, just to be clear, I’m not actually a bawhair away from declaring him a * legend.
In fact the vast majority of us know the limitations he had as a keeper and yet we dont need to snidely point out the level of opposition he (we) faced most of the time in a desperate attempt to try and prove, lol, a point.
