We have offered him a deal on a third of his original £18k a week apparently or a pay as you play depending where you read

    Think he's turned it down?

Not bothered anyways coming to the end of his career and we can do better.

I assume by telling Celtic to come "back with a better offer" of the rumoured £6k a week, then he must have an offer of at least £7k from St Mirren considering he claims they have made a "good offer" to him.

    * is now saying that he will have further talks with Celtic. Please no.
Surely if we dont get big FF, this * is not plan B.
With CG or Bain in goal, what a risk that will be.

Lennon won’t rule out Gordon sticking around as well. The 37-year-old is assessing his options after turning down the extended deal on the table.

He said: “There’s no movement yet but talks are ongoing. The door is always open. I’d like to keep him, he’s a top professional and he handled himself really well last season.

“Craig is absolute quality and we don’t know what will happen with Fraser as well. We’ll hopefully know more over the next few weeks.”

We were seeing the same stuff about Izzy last season. Probably doing the * a favour by feigning interest so he might get a better contract

The older you get the harder it is to be a back up, loss of agility, body slowing down.

Him going is good for all parties.

We have only 3 senior cb's, and one of them is a guy who is always injured which we usually play as RB. Still, we release Jozo because he is "surplus"

But we absolutely need to beg our 3rd choice goalkeeper to stay, an * of a guy that doesn't want to be here, even with two young goalkeepers out on loan doing well somewhere else.

CRAIG GORDON is considering a two-year deal from Hearts — as Celtic stall on an improved contract offer.

SunSport can reveal the 37-year old keeper has rejected a move to St Mirren.

Now it’s between the two Scottish clubs Gordon has played for as the ex-Scotland No 1 weighs up his future.

Celtic want to re-sign the hugely-experienced goalie as back-up to Fraser Forster.

But the deal on the table from the Premiership champions is on vastly reduced terms — and Gordon is unimpressed with the way negotiations have gone until now.

He told SunSport a fortnight ago how Celts needed to improve their first offer if they were truly serious about signing him again.

But there has been no new proposal for Gordon to consider.

And it’s understood Celts have even urged the one-time £9million man to delay his decision until they know where they stand with Forster.

As we first revealed, Saints boss Jim Goodwin hoped to pounce on the situation and pull off a major coup by snapping up the Scotland star.

But despite being hugely impressed with Goodwin’s pitch to him, Gordon has decided against a move to the Paisley outfit.

Hearts have been alerted to the situation and have made their move to snap up their former hero.

They feared they would be unable to lure Gordon to the club if they were condemned to the Championship.

But Gordon has made it clear he’d be open to the move regardless of which division they’re playing in next season.

He also played with Robbie Neilson during his first spell at the club as a youngster and would be happy to work with his ex-team-mate now that he's set to be confirmed as Daniel Stendel’s replacement.

Negotiations are centred around an initial two-year deal, with the possibility of a 12-month extension.

Hearts owner Ann Budge is prepared to discuss the possibility of a testimonial benefit match.

Gordon also has an eye on the next stage of his career and is planning to start his coaching badges.

The Gorgie club are happy to support him in that effort.

As yet nothing has been agreed but further talks are expected to take place this week — with Gordon biding his time before making any final decision.

A club suing the SPFL for 8 million and asking for fan donations have the budget to offer Gordon a 2 year deal and sign Dundee United's manager, ye cannae make it up.

Hopefully the offer from Hearts is what he's been waiting on and he jumps at it. Just so long as we don't need to see the dour faced egotistical * ever wear a Celtic strip again.
Absolute certainty that once he does retire he'll get a media gig and will stick boot into us at every opportunity.
