cant believe some of the ridiculous comments on here, if it wasn't for Craig G, we would have lost the other night. he may have some distribution issues but hes easily the bast shot stopper in the country. :celt_2:

Doing what he did after injury deserves some respect.
I have a soft spot for him, or at least did. Probably stems from the fact I've played in goal myself quite a long time and think keepers get a raw deal from pundits and fans who don't really have much of clue. As a lot have proven here with comments about his tip over save, nothing wrong with it.

It's time for a new keeper. Gordon still has something to offer and while I think he's done well in attempting to adapt to Rodgers style it hasn't worked. He just can't play ball.
I'm sure there are plenty of decent keepers available but finding a ball playing keeper at the level we can attract and afford could be tricky. Luckily we have a superb scouting system that no doubt has some names and made contact already. :(

Firstly, watching the game you could see as the free taker started his run, the big blonde lad at the back moved and I actually saw it happening before it did. I knew he'd get on the end of it.
The blonde lad was on Gordon's right, away from the direction of the free, classic blindside. If his marker (think Gamboa, our right fulls :39:) slightly checks him and stops him then there's no issue, Gordon collects easy. However, I really disliked his aggression towards the collect. It looked as tho either he wasn't aware of the attacker and was slow to move to take it which is bad awareness or was afraid of coming aggressively and taking a hit. Either way he's equally if not more culpable than the defence are for letting the attacker run free.
Funny enough, he actually stays in his line he most likely saves it. Go figure.

    We're too soft overall.

The aggression sums it up for me, what I want in a keeper is barking orders, sorting his defence out, being a leader at the back there but see when that ball comes into his box, especially his 6 yard box, you go for that with everything you have. You wipe * out.

You’re right, if he wasn’t there we would have lost because there would have been no keeper.

But in the real world he’d have been replaced by someone who can save shots, collect crosses, organise his defence and can pass the ball further than 5 yards.

Every man for themselves, then runs the length of the pitch to celebrate with the biggest man for himself at the club..

    Lol..

At 1-0 and with Hamilton pressing us high up, a celtic defender under pressure plays a short pass back to him. he tries to be clever and hits a high ball out to a celtic player, Tierney i think, at the side line deep in his own half, in no way alleviating the pressure whatsoever.

Is it just accepted that this is a part of his game and that we will be placed under needless pressure by his poor kicking again and again?
Strong teams have and will punish us for this. I cant comprehend why its still happening.

And also, would have players of the likes of Larsson, Sutton, Lennon etc have ran the length of the park for a player who only so recently turned his back on his team when we needed him the most?
Im all for team spirit, but where is the competative nature?

Personally thought his celebration was a bit of a middle finger to the fans, given the booing and banner directed at Boyata.

think it was all a pre planned celebration to show the togetherness of the team , i assume it would have been done regardless of the scorer , the lap of honour and brown touching on the in it together patter after the game

He always overstretches and tips shots over the bar the he could easily have just stood there and caught it, so it looks like he pulled off an amazing last gasp save.

Or maybe he just canny catch a baw. Bain is a much more reliable keeper anyhow.

Bain is miles better. The only thing Gordon has going for him is that he’s handsome and, to be honest, I’d rather ride Bain anyway.

At least with Boyata we know there's a hope he'll be gone, whereas we are stuck with this donkey and expected to put up with his subpar performances until he hangs up his gloves....:87::drag:
