In terms of pure financial risk and reward, he's turned out to be a massive massive reward. Went better then anyone could have ever imagined.

Sadly though I think he needs replacing. But no one can take away from what he achieved here.

No matter how many times I observe him my opinion rarely changes.

He is an excellent shot-stopper, by far the best in this league, but his kicking and decision-making at times really * me off.

Think most of us that back him would agree with this!! However, this could cost a right few quid with no guarantee you'd be getting better (as always of course) and in my opinion there's other areas that need cash before this!!

Very few is very generous there. He’s done well but he has glaring weaknesses. I would like to see a better keeper come in but people tend to go overboard with gordon whether they’re praising or criticising him.

Again the mistakes get more attention. St Johnstone and inter springs to mind. He arrived on the back of the holy goalie and the great wall. 2 great keepers.

Definitely as good as artur in terms of domestic consistenct. And on par with Forster. Only problem has been in Europe but that's not Gordon alone. The competition has changed a lot and we get regularly pumped. Those 2 always had a penalty save in them as well which Craig isn't as strong with.

We will need a new keeper soon that's for sure. Gordon's great moments are often lost though. Like the saves vs hibs and Ross county and morelos this season. When you run away with the league u tend to overlook the keepers best bits.

He’s nowehere near they two and that’s when i find it unfair on Gordon, because he isn’t in their league people tend to compare him to them. It’s like when * used to compare Hooper to Larsson, it’s just not a fair comparison.

Mistakes get attention when those mistakes become problematic. He has had some fantastic moments for us and that’s because he isn’t a terrible goalkeeper, he’s quite a good one infact, he just has some glaring weaknesses that doesn’t take him to the next level. What he has done in his career, to come back, is unreal and I admire the guy for it but there’s no point pretending he is something he’s not.

    This.

We all know his kicking/passing isn't very good but it's his decision making that is the biggest problem. He plays those * wee * out to the full backs at the worst times. He can see the full back doesn't have much space, yet he tries to be fancy.

Just hoof it for * sake.

Dont think people realise that the ederson type keeper they want is either completely out of our price bracket or would have to be bought as a teenager with multiple flaws that will be needing ironed out.

I'd be willing to bet (figuratively), that as much as 80% of the goals we have conceded, are at the fault of either Gordon of Boyata in the last two seasons. They are both the biggest weakness in the squad right now and repeatedly become an issue for us as early in the season as the qualifiers now.
Will only be time before one of these two cost us CL qualification.

All credit to the lad, he has done amazingly well with everything he has overcome in his career. But sentiment needs to get to * here. He isn't a Celtic legend who can be afforded some leeway for a few moments of madness, he is just a goalkeeper that happens to play for us. A decent keeper, once the potential to be world class, but he isn't. He isn't world class and he isn't good enough beyond SPL level when he has a good squad in front of him.

I can’t believe the tone in some of the posts in here, some proper hostility towards the guy who has pulled off some exceptional stops in his time and kept us in games.

I can acknowledge that he makes some crucial errors, beaten at his front post, missing at crosses, and his kicking and complacency with the ball at his feet is criminal.

The way some go on is as if he’s cost us a major trophy etc. Yes, we can do better, but we can certainly do far far worse.

He's come back very motivated from injury, Bain has lit a fire in him and that can only be a good thing imo

There are moments when hoofing it is required, like for instance if you're being closed down you just have to get rid.

However, I understand that if you want to build up from the back, there's no point in your keeper just kicking it anywhere any time it's passed back to him. But, Gordon seems to * around with a few minutes before giving someone a hospital pass when he could have passes it quicker and without giving away possession.

It's usually at it's worst under no pressure and when he's dallying. They almost looks half arsed..

When it's a bit quicker and he plays it first time, it seems to be less risky..

He's a superb shot stopper, absolutely.

However, his command of the box, his unwillingness to come out and get the ball, and his kicking all leave a lot to be desired.

Thought the only dodgy one was when he tried to pass to Tierney or someone on the left and it went to a hun and nowhere near him.

Gordon should never try to pass a ball wide 40 yards as he always makes a * of it, if he canny pass to someone on the deck he should go long to the striker. He cost us a goal recently was it against Hibs by trying to pass to Lustig, his passing far too inaccurate for that that it causes us bother.

Had boruc and Forster been asked to mess about with the ball at their feet as much they may have made as many mistakes as Gordon. In terms of Boruc if u want to be harsh you could blame the title loss in 08-09 on his goalkeeping, letting cousin score near post, dropping bigfoots cross to miller, the squiggler from Rankin, conceding 4 at pittodrie, running out against Dundee in the cup and missing the ball and so on.

He played a shocker of a pass in the build up to Forrest’s goal. Ajer had to slide to stop one of their players having a free run at goal.

CRAIG Gordon played through the pain barrier as Celtic made history at Hampden on Saturday then insisted the only way he would have missed the occasion would have been if someone had chopped his legs off, writes Stewart Fisher. The Scotlandgoalkeeper was a pre-match doubt for the season-ending showpiece having missed the final three games of the Parkhead side’s league season with a knee injury. Legacy of serious knee injuries or not, Brendan Rodgers pitched the veteran back into battle at Mount Florida and was rewarded with precisely the kind of composed display which makes him so important to the club.

“I was struggling a bit - but you would have needed to chop my legs off to stop me playing,” said Gordon. “It was still pretty sore during the game but I managed to get through it - and now I’ve got four weeks off. I knew that I could get through a game but you know, it’s not easy to leave me out for the three games leading into the final, then have the faith to put me back in when it really mattered. But he did. And I’m thankful to him for that. With another clean sheet, hopefully that repaid him.”

How long can Gordon carry on playing at this level? Well, he has two years left on this contract, and all going well he could stay even longer. “Gianluigi Buffon has just left Juventus at 40,” said Gordon. “I’ve still got a wee bit to go if I want to catch him up. But you never know. As long as I’m fit enough to keep contributing to this team, keep playing in such a successful team, then I’ll go into next season and try to do the same again. I’ve still got two years left on this contract and I want to go on as long as possible. If my body’s OK, I’ll go on well beyond that.”

Gordon admits it won’t take long to focus on make it a treble treble. ‘We do set the bar high. We’ll celebrate this one, then get together in pre-season and set our aims to go again. You do get greedy for success. But the guys in there know how much this has taken. I can’t see it being done again – not for a very long time.
