Rodgers says it will be a short-term solution. Ah, well - better than rushing a permanent signing, I guess.

If we are looking for a future signing, I would go for Pereira at Manchester United or Ward at Liverpool. If we are looking for an experienced goalkeeper, I would go for Eduardo at Chelsea or Storari at AC Milan.

    Really?

    Celtic 5 Astana 0
    Astana 4 Celtic 3
    Celtic 0 PSG 5
    Anderlecht 0 Celtic 3
    Bayern 3 Celtic 0
    Celtic 1 Bayern 2
    PSG 7 Celtic 1
    Celtic 0 Anderlecht 1

That's a whole load of goals he's let in. 22 goals in 8 games or 18 goals over the 6 group games.

That's probably our worst ever goals conceded tally.

Think we need a fresh set of legs to be honest. Gordon should go into a coaching role at the end of this season and retire gracefully. He's 36 this year so he really doesn't have naturally long left anyway.

Bit harsh to solely blame Gordon for all of those goals. Ffs. :giggle1:

It' a hammer blow cause we don't have time to replace him but he wasn't having a great season.

He has had a great few games and been ropy as * this season which he got found out big time in Europe.

He only got away with the rest cause of the league we are in.

    Time to be replaced.

Not blaming Gordon no, the defence has been shoddy as * but can't ever remember Boruc or Forster letting in 12 against a PSG comparable.

Every time PSG played within 25 yards of our goal line it was a case of close your eyes and hope Gordon didn't let in another one. There was no confidence from the fans in Gordon stopping a goal rout, he was to blame for many of those 12 goals by how slow and poor he was to react. Watch the 12 PSG goals again, he should have done better in at least half of them.

He's contributed to Celtic's worst ever Champions league group performance ever in terms of goals conceded.

He's 36 this year, how much longer does he realistically have? Perhaps a good time to retire and let a new younger guy into the number 1 jersey?

That's because we played incredible defensive against the top teams, before Rodgers came in.

Against the top clubs, it's a necessity.

It certainly is, nothing can be learned from gettin hammered in that manner, it's not good for anyone, players, supporters etc....

It's my only real criticism of Brendan, we don't want to be the whipping boys of the CL.

Completed warranted IMO - his shortcomings are brutally highlighted within a Brendan Rodgers team. If we are going to continue building attacks patiently from front to back then he isn't good enough, by a long stretch.

I actually admire him from going from the scrapheap to the Champions League in such a short space of time, I can just see he is the weak link in this side just now. Any side, such as Hearts, that high presses will shine a spotlight on how shocking his distribution is - particularly under pressure.

He's a Treble winning Invicible GK, not bad for a guy who at one point looked as if he was finished. :ynwacelti

Our whole defence has weaknesses when it comes to a high press. I understand wanting a keeper thats better with his feet, thats fair enough, but i think the criticism often goes a bit overboard from certain folk. I think some people genuinely hate the guy

He's played his part tho defo.. usually by playing the ball directly to the opposition at every opportunity. Possession is everything.

Don't get me wrong others have to make themselves available for the pass too.

    He definitely wasn’t.

De Vries showed better distribution in 45 mins than Gordon has all season.

It’s not all about the odd flashy save.
