Craig Bellamy

If we do get Bellamy on loan for a season I don't think it will be this season.

I know some folk are saying that he might take a wage cut cos it's Celtic, players don't always put money first etc etc, but I think they are misunderstanding the type of person Bellamy is. I see him as essentially quite shallow, he's not the type to take a 50% wage cut to come here.

Unless Man City were so keen to get shot of him they were willing to pay about 50K of his wages, and we could pay 35K - they might not want him playing for another EPL club, and he might think it was worth a 10K drop to be playing regular football...

 

How do you know he is shallow? Have you been lucky enough to meet Craig Bellamy and have a nice long chat with him? You cant judge how players are off the pitch by their behavior on the pitch. In fact Bellamy strikes me as a player who would want to come to Celtic even if it means taking a wage cut.

I think someone on here who was at the q&a session in Dundee stated that Lennon and lawell both said he was not coming so that's the end of this rumour

 

Lawwell and Lennon both said Keane and Bellamy won't be coming, rumour over.

Now don't get me wrong i'm not for one minute saying i think either keane or bellamy will be at celtic any time soon,but i also believe til they sign for someone else its still genuine rumour thread,as for Lawell and Lenny saying what they said then do you honestly think they would turn round and say "oh yeah Bellamy/keane's gonna be coming next week/month whatever"ofcourse their gonna play it down so 1 theres no backlash when it doesn't happen 2 the media would have a field day 3 maybe just maybe they're trying hard to get the marquee signing so they can say "Know how we said it wasn't gonna happen.........well SURPRISE!!!"

 

Im pretty sure that lenny only has a couple more signings in mind for a couple of positions. After hes brought in hooper and Kayal, he'll be after a goalie, i think that will be it, or maybe one more. Theres not a chance in * that hes got money left or the capacity to bring bellamy in. You cant deny he is quality, but he is also injury prone. The big teams in england can afford to buy him as a luxury, coz they have an abundance of players at their disposal and money pouring out their arses.
