Thats daft and i find that hard to believe as he was only back at Spurs for 6 months at that point, after he re-signed for them having 6 months of bad times at Liverpool

Its easy to say they have been keeping in touch with him considering him and Desmond know each other and are both Irish anyway. Makes the board look pro-active.

Robbie Keane leaves Tottenham Hotspur to join Celtic on loan - Telegraph

Harry Redknapp, the Tottenham manager, admitted that he could not stand in the way of what was a "dream move" for Keane. "The chairman rang me just after 5 o'clock to stay that Celtic had been on. He asked me what I thought and I said he's too good not to be starting," said Redknapp

if it wasn't last mintue, howcome nobody heard anything beforehand, nothing stays quiet btw, if they had plans.

Lets get back on topic though

Yes. He loves it here, however he did say he doubts we could afford his transfer fee and wages

He said that about the expenses in 2008. Probably a similar case relating to that now, though very different as he is at a club with money to burn

a think he needs to realize that where ever he goes he will need to take a major pay cut. a dont think he will be guaranteed first team football at spurs where as he would here which a think could persuade him and he hates the huns to the core

Nah we're never gonna spend all of Mcgeady's fee on one player and besides it's been quoted he could go for 3m.However it's probably more realistic we would have to pay maybe 5-6m for him.

I would love to see Bellamy in the No. 7 shirt next season but I'm not going to believe anything until it has been confirmed.

I very much doubt that we could afford his transfer fees and his wages, but I think if we sold McGeady we could use some of that money to pay his wages for a season and get him on loan and then perhaps look at a more permanint move after a season.

Like I say though, I would really love to Bellamy back at Celtic Park, he's just the kind of player we need to bang in the goals. I just won't believe anything until it actually happens.
