    spurs were after him last year and price of 5 million euros (3.4mil) was quoted although messina refused to sell him. he's only got a year left on his contract so maybe a we bit less now. got the info from skysports.com so dont know how accurate it all is

    the italian midfielder and the blackburn forward is the latest to be linked to the club – and instantly dismissed as targets as they do not fit the profile of the men the club want.
    Messina are ready to offload twice-capped Coppola for just £250,000, though the Italian club previously quoted Fiorentina £1.35m when they enquired about him. The 27-year-old today claimed to have received an offer from Scotland "which is interesting me". His agent named Celtic, but that is not the case.
    A source at Parkhead has indicated Strachan has at no time had Coppola on his radar.
    That is also the case with 29-year-old Blackburn hitman Kuqi. Like Bulgarian defender Ivaylo Petkov, these are players who are being put forward to Celtic, rather than men the club are actively pursuing.

    these arent players weve been interested in these are players agents are trying to punt to us... the only 2 so far WGS has actively pursued is VOH and tymoschuk so far.

    as for coppola if he was that good spurs would have signed him when they had the chance and from what i have seen of him it would just be like signing a slighty faster lennon no way he could replace petrov he is to defensive
