Not sure that counts as a controversial opinion, though TBH. Other than "Inverse Butch", who ever thought Broony was one of the greats of the game?

Apart from a couple of the Lions, Dalglish and McGrain, what players have we ever had who were? Maybe Larsson could have been if he'd left for Barcelona a few seasons earlier? We'll never know.

Wooft, now that's controversial. I love it, always have and always will. Still, each to their own

Broony was a great player for us. Would rather have him in our team than not however, the word "brilliant" is used to literally theses days and I don't think even Broony would say he was brilliant.

I think Larsson at his peak at celtic was legitimately "a great of the game". He could hold his own in any team in the world in my opinion. In the modern era I think he is the only one that comes close. Even Van Dijk who arguably became elite wasn't elite at celtic.

    I hear ya.

I find it a bit of a dirge at times, if it comes on as part of a shuffle when I have the tunes on, I tend to skip it.

However, at the game I thoroughly enjoy it when it's used at the right times (i.e. euro nights, pre-huns, post cup win).

Always felt it's a song you're supposed to like but it's just a slow and plodding musical number

Under the lights at CP it’s full of emotion and makes the hairs on the back of my next stand up, it reduces me to tears as it was my late dads favourite song, we are all different and unique.

I can see both sides of this. If you evaluate it purely in terms of its musical worth as a song, we definitely have better songs; but if you don't feel goosebumps at the start of a big game when the tannoy cuts out and 60k people continue to sing it, I don't know what to tell you.

If you’re not a ‘brilliant’ player or figure for Celtic how could you be described as a ‘legend’? Scott Brown is a Celtic legend imo as he was a brilliant player and captain for us - a Celtic legend does not apply to just anyone though and it gets banded about too easily these days.

    Maley,McGrory,Stein,The Lions,McGrain,McStay,Larsson - legends.

Then you’ve got heroes like McNamara,Boruc,Hartson,Sutton,Nakamura etc

Think the thing with Broony was he wasn’t just a really good player for us, his swagger and ability to wind up opponents added to his huge popularity. Broony at his peak would walk into any modern day Celtic team
