Didn't Strachan say he only signed Jeremie Aladiere, because he didn't realise how good Beaty was?
Also I remember that 2nd leg against Artmedia Wallace was brilliant, we were one goal away from extra time and Strachan took him off.
Strachan made the worst subs of any Celtic manager in my time.
Either not early enough, not the right ones ,or not enough of them

Aye, Rogne was a talented player. Only thing he really lacked was pace.

He was a clean sheet monster, can remember a thread about it on here, usually when he played we had a clean sheet.

Some of our football under Lennon was as good as any we played under Rodgers.

 

No chance.

Even Ange hasn’t reached the levels of when we were at our absolute best under Rodgers yet imo. Not much in it though.

I prefer Angeball as it’s all out and direct, but, some of the passages of play under Rodgers at the beginning were breath taking. It didn’t last too long though, turned into tippy tappy, sideways and backwards passes more often than not.

 

Ralstons better for us against lesser teams.

 

Rodgers invincible season was incredible, but we did play some nice stuff in Lennon’s first season back.

There was about a 6 week period under Lennon before Covid when we were outstanding. The first game that got called off was at the * pit. We would’ve put 4 by them and Gerrard would’ve got the sack, following his humiliating cup exit to Hearts and the home league defeat to Hamilton Accies.

Eduoard and Griffiths built up a lovely partnership around that time. I remember a midweek game at Fir Park, won 4-0 I think, Eduoard scored a free kick. Could’ve been 10 easy.

The flip side is that things under Rodgers towards the end was as laboured as *. His first season, particularly towards the end we were outstanding, and played some lovely stuff.

Admittedly though, Rodgers despite playing progressive football, is very conservative in the sense that it’s safety first when in possession. Turns a lot of people off which is understandable.

 

Aye that first season under Rodgers was special. I remember thinking some of the football in Lenny's first season back was as entertaining as any I'd seen before though.

I also prefer our style now under Ange to either of the above.

 

Ralston is our best right back and should be ahead of Juranovic.

 

Forster was far superior to Boruc overall.

I’ve literally just came to the conclusion by watching the highlights of WGS 3-in-row seasons and Forster under Lennon first time round never mind the 2nd stint.

Boruc at his best, was one of the best in the world, but his mistakes were far more numerous than we like to remember cos he was a likeable nutcase that done it on the big occasions.

Longer he was here, the more erratic he got though. Forster was inexperienced at first but occasionally spectacular then just spectacular and reliable as * on every occasion

 

Don’t think that’s particularly controversial tbh.

 

Ma group of mates play a wee game naming two players and you need to say who’s better within 3 seconds. 90% always say Boruc, so I might be skewed in my opinion.

I’ve always said Forster overall to it but it’s the scale of how much it’s Forster that’s probably controversial, because he is streets ahead overall.

Both on their best performances they’re inseparable and considering the best they both done was in massive, massive games and were the difference for us, Boruc’s erratic moments are the more memorable ones like him with ‘the squiggler’ with Hibs.

But it wasn’t rare moments he’d do that, it was consistent week by week by the last two years.

 

I’d definitely take Forster over Boruc, did Messi not say he was the best keeper he’s played against and wanted Barca to sign him?
