    Why should they have settled for a made up country the td's back then sold out for there own benefit just like they did today and I would say De Valera's reign was more damaging then anything else for cross community relations in the pre trouble years I'll say again he changed noting but the Colour of the postboxes

    I quite like C.S. Lewis. Even when I disagree (often), I learn a lot, occasionally he even changes my mind on things. Probably the Tory I most respect TBH.

    What would you rather be part of Britain? We are an Independent country not a made up one. As much as we hate our Government the people voted them in, we would not have that chance if we were part of Britain. Stop trying to look at things in a Republican perspective and be realistic. You can be a Republican and be pro treaty. If we had a vote on a United Ireland I'd vote for it.

    I don't really care about Irish Republicanism. I'm not Irish, my Irish heritage was three generations ago on one side of my family. It has no impact on my life.
