Couldn't stand and never rated Sammy.
And I've never gone over that (most likely) title winning penalty he'd missed against the huns...

Yep. I think it was the fact that Samaras had brilliant ability that * people off. He would show it at the Nou Camp against Barcelona and run riot. Then he would turn up at McDiarmid Park on the Saturday against St Johnstone and do absolutely nothing.

That was the annoying thing about him. If he'd have just been pish all the time then he would have been easier to accept in a way. It was the fact that we knew he had it in him. He just decided when he was putting it on show. That is what annoyed fans most about him in my opinion

I think they’re probably still in the Neanderthal stage of evolution … It would explain a lot.

We’re hoarding money preparing to pay out damages, and every part of that case we’ve acted in a way I hate. Yes, lawyers arguing semantics and looking out for shareholders on PLC needs to happens etc.

Morally though, it’s reprehensible. But we’ve kept a wedge there preparing.

Couldn’t pay me to listen to them anymore. Also their twitter accounts all have the same pish banter, constantly making wee jokes about the transfer window atm.

I think that we all want us to be taking on the likes of Salzburg, Club Brugges, Anderlecht, Porto, Benfica, Ajax in the transfer market but because of our inability to move the club onto the next level, we will be starting to compete with the likes of Copenhagen, Bodo and Brondby for players.

We are getting further away from these sort of teams and closer to bigger teams in smaller leagues.

I’m not convinced he actually decided when to turn it on, it just sometimes happened, and more often never.

I already think we accept we can’t compete with Benfica, Ajax, PSV, Porto, Sporting, Club Brugge and I would say are on a par with Copenhagen.

Even Gent the other day paid €7-8m for Sanko of Hacken a young prospect winger. We wouldn’t do anything like that.

Bodo Glimt, would be a competitor for players in Norway and the likes of Slavia Prague are a more likely destination for Eastern European players. We certainly would struggle to take players off any of those clubs now. That is pretty scandalous given I would guess our wage structure is still significantly higher.

Can't see any of them getting 60,000 season ticket holders, with a guaranteed income of £36m a season either.

Agreed... I think when you take everything else into consideration, though, it's a good way of looking at them in games.

Stats, metrics and highlights should all be considered.

It's a slippery subject. It doesn't give the full picture but I think even in a highlights video you can see certain things for certain types of players.

You can see how they carry themselves, you can see if they get their head up. If it's a striker and all their highlights are in the box shooting then that is an indicator in itself. Likewise if there's a variety of play that shows something else.

You can see how they position themselves for crosses. If they're ball watching, or if they're watching the defender - are they consciously positioning themselves between the sticks in every highlight or is it just a one-off.

It's not the full picture but certain attributes can clearly be identified from watching a highlight reel.

What I'd point out from what I said above is all those things are opposition independent.

Stefan Scepovic's YouTube video made him look like Ibrihimovich.

I remember watching Ajeti's where he's scoring headers an tap ins in the 6 yard box 20 times, then watched Toney banging them in from every angle in his one - outside the box, volleys, screamers. Rest is history.

Still can't get my head around that decision.
