:87: gimme a break, that happens in every football tournament. Spain had a day less than Holland in 2010, a day less than Germany in 2008, Greece had a day less in 2004, Brazil in 2002, France in 98. They all managed!

That was the initial 26 man squad. It got cut to 23 with Xabi Alonso(injured), Benat and Javi Garcia all being cut. :50:

The score in the final really flattered Spain. The Italy team were fatigued for starters and had to play half the game with 10 men.

Goalkeepers: Buffon (Juventus), Marchetti (Lazio), Sirigu (Paris St. Germain)

Defenders: Abate (Milan), Astori (Cagliari), Barzagli (Juventus), Bonucci (Juventus), Chiellini (Juventus), De Sciglio (Milan), Maggio (Napoli)

Midfielders: Aquilani (Fiorentina), Candreva (Lazio), Cerci (Torino), De Rossi (Roma), Diamanti (Bologna), Giaccherini (Juventus), Marchisio (Juventus), Montolivo (Milan), Pirlo (Juventus)

Forwards: Balotelli (Milan), El Shaarawy (Milan), Gilardino (Bologna), Giovinco (Juventus)

That's the Italy squad for the tournament. Not all players I'd pick right enough but a good squad regardless. Italy's main problem is attitude, unless its a World Cup or Euro's they don't quite take it seriously enough unfortunately, hopefully this year will be an exception.

Both teams wouldve been fatigued! It happens in international football. Doesnt change the fact that Spain beat Italy comfortably. No cheating. Just a better team.

I'm not putting the squad down - In my opinion they won't have it easy and I can see the South American/Latin American teams out playing them.

It's good Soldado is there - Really have enjoyed watching him (albeit a few times).

It's one thing to say you don't think Spain will win the tournament, but to say that they'll "get played off the pitch" is ridiculous. No one is playing Spain off the pitch.

I think it's evidence that investment pays off. Spain, Germany and Italy have invested more than any other European countries on coaches and look at how successful their international teams are.

I'm not sure of the current figures, but in 2010 here are the figures for coaches who hold the UEFA PRO badges.

    England: 2,769
    Spain: 23,995
    Italy: 29,420
    Germany: 34,790

Japan can bleed Spain dry. And they will.

Indeed - it should be a great game. I have no doubt Japan will run rings around them.

Difficult one - Brazil trashed them last time they played.

Given Brazils current performances though it should be a good game.
