What I said was the truth, I didnt say anything about this season. You are off on a tangent.

Do you realise that players dont really care what is fed to the press unless its outrageous and what the manager says to them in his office and out on the training ground is all that really matters.

Strachan gave nothing to the press and told the players what they needed to hear behind closed doors. For the most part, what managers say to the press is PR. If you keep the media onside, they wont write nasty stuff about you. Strachan didnt give a * what the hacks thought. Fans dont need them to see whats really going on but some didnt get this approach.

Mowbray took a different approach and going by the results, it hasnt worked aswell as Strachans method. He's still getting flak but the media arent sticking the knives in yet but they will.

I dont think Mowbray should be sacked and the board are definately not going to listen to fickle fans on the issue. One minute he's brilliant, the next he should be sacked. Bar complete incompetence, he'll get the season out of it.

Part blame for our situation is down to Lawwell, he decides policy at Celtic and just as he gets kudos when things were going well, he should get the flak when things are like this.

Mowbrays management of the players at his disposal isnt as good as it could be. Lawwell management of the wage structure and which transfer targets the manager gets to work with has also become a serious issue. We spend more on player wages & transfer fees but we arent getting the players that take us forward, just sideways and slowly reducing the wage bill.

Because Tony Mowbray is our manager.

The only reason I'm not sure if I want him sacked or not is because we'd have to start all over again with someone new and a new manager is another risk. It would be very expensive to get someone new in and the transitional period we are in would last even longer.

Even allowing for all that to happen, and there is a big if in that, we will still be behind them on GD.
So much wrong today from the back to the front,so many players totally ineffective and that includes Fortune, Sammaris, McGeady while at the back we were opened up too often too easily, young Thompon's lack of pace is surpising and worrying.
It is unbelievable that we are now depending on other teams to take points off the worse huns team for years. On a seperate , I can tolerate TM's style of being muted on the sideline but what the * do the other two (Venus & Grant) bring to the party, we badly need a Neil Lennon doing what these three fail to do.

i know mate its shocking when we were in a position similar to the huns they really made us pay by bullying there way to 9 in a row.now the shoe is on the other foot they are laughing there * off all the way to 2 in a row.if someone buys them over and pumps money into them it could be a long few years ahead.

As for sacking Mowbray, it won't happen. Nor do I think it should happen. When I think back to last season, which was by far the worst season since the mid 90s for me, I remember thinking that it would take a miracle to take that team and turn them into something worth watching and capable of winning stuff.

It's very harsh to judge a guy after half a season when you consider the job he walked into.

6 points behind if we win our game in hand. 2 games against the huns to play. We were 7 points ahead twice last season and threw it away. Mowbray for the sack........Get a grip. Its not over.

Yes, Mowbray must go - your points would be valid had we not just drawn at HOME to * FALKIRK. This was not a top 4, let alone a top 6 team we played. This was a team struggling for survival in the league ffs!

No, I agree with most fans that TM is not up to the job. If you can convince me that Falkirk had a team at their disposal worthy of a draw against our team then I'll agree with you that TM should stay and fight after the transfer window. If not then you should agree with me that this man could not manage to order a sweet and sour in a Chinese take away and get him to *.

Seriously, I've never felt so embarrassed at being this many points behind, what even Rangers fans would call, the worst team for years.

    TM must go!!!

i would never concede the title but we would have to go on a good run, which we never managed at all in the first half of the season.also the next huns game is in 6 weeks or so and unless the gap has shortened we will be under severe pressure to take 3 points.

Tony Mowbray shouldnae leave celtic. FACT Sir Alex never won anything in his first 4 or 5 seasons at man utd - not saying tony's the next sir alex - but he will get it right, I am sure of it.

And remember Strachan wisnae all sugar at the start of his celtic career - more often * - artmedia bratislava, 4-4 wae motherwell etc etc

Think the players will click into his system and he was raved about as hibs manager so I don't see how he can become so bad in the space of a couple of years having gained more experience

GIVE MOWBRAY TIME TO GET RID OF THE DEADWOOD AND ALL WILL COME GOOD.

Keep the faith, there are only so many lucky 1-0 wins the huns can get when playing badly and with players such as Lafferty and Broadfoot playing for them i really don't understand how folk on here can say the league is over - it is far from it!

    Hail Hail! Believe in Mowbray

To be honest although I am skeptical about Mogga I do not think sacking him this season would help. The very least he and the board need to do is make sure that another quality CF and CH come in. It is obvious that we do not have a quality CF who is a scorer and I think it has been obvous to all involved at Celtic ever since JVOH became a permacrock about 2 years ago. He (before all his injuries) was an international class goal machine at his peak. Sammy and Fortune are good 2nd strikers but we need a better 1st striker goal sniffer than Skippy (keep him as backup). If we do not get in a qualty goal sniffer this window then it is pure negligence and short term penny pinching by the board and the league will certainly be Rangers.

Once again we get a knee * reaction to a poor result, yes I agree that whatever eleven Celtic players take the field at Parkhead we should still expect them to beat the likes of Falkirk. Our problem is that many currently players posing in Green and White Hoops are nowhere like the class of players we should be seeing at Celtic, but blame our beloved directors for forcing us to buy this calibre of player.

I had the misfortune of sticking on the huns game earlier and - no lie - they were totally awful and dominated by the Accies. This team of imposters must be the worse side ever to lead the SPL by 9 points. They're skint and they're garbage, but still night and day ahead of us :31::31:

As i see it we've too options.
    1. Sack Mowbray now, take the cash hit, and hope the new gaffer/caretaker can rejuvenate current squad. Do this and we MIGHT win the league.

    2. Keep Mowbray, give him more money to build now and in the summer, but accept we'll DEFINITELY lose this title.

As i see anyone who thinks we can achieve the consistency to catch the Huns and overtake them is just deluding themselves.

We either give Tony time and swallow them getting 2 in a row, or we roll the dice big time.... :54:

    dejá vù.

This thread is the same story as I remember after any games with point drops under both Strachan and Mowbray. Just change some names in the title, and you have heard anything before.

We could sack Mowbray. Hire another. And give him 1½ transfer windows to try to build his squad. But still I promise you that neither one could never do the job well enough to please the half of you.

I accept that some just better like the style of Strachan. I prefer Mowbray and I have enjoyed a serie of matches this season, and couldn't be more delighted with the person of manager even though that both Mowbray and us fans have deserved some better results in some of the matches. It's frustration not to get an optimal start, but I have the passion because I like his style of football and the players he want to buy.

Btw, I accept other peoples opinions. Or... i would be strange if people couldn't think for themself. But I personal thinks alot of the reactions in here are the far most embarresing of all.
