Another CB blunder - more dropped points.

This cannot get any cleaer to the board and TM that our current CB's including McManus Loovens and O'Dea are simply not good enough for Celtic. Past managers have gotten more out of them than they can be expected to give. 2 out of those 3 must go and at least a brand new CB taken in.

This is a matter of urgency as without fail over the past 10-20 fixturesa CB blunder has either cost us points or put us under intense pressure to chase a win. It is totally undermining everything we do.

Our rumoured first choice thinks relegation struggling Bolton is a better draw than Celtic - who would you want to replace TM if self proclaimed Celtic fans can turn us down so easily? What top class manager would take a job knowing the fans will only give him half a season to deliver (some fans even less)?

    1. How good did MON and WGS do in their first European campaign? Not very well so during a transitional period Europe doesn't really matter in the grand scale of things.

    2. How many times do we hear the league cup being called the diddy cup? We've also been put out the competition at home before, this isn't the first time it's happened and won't be the last.

    3. Last season we threw away a 7 point lead twice, a 14 point turn around, the season before we were 7 points behind in April and played a game more, we can turn around a 9 point deficit in January with a game in hand.

    4. See point 3 above

We are in a transition period, many fans were calling for attractive football, we'll it takes time to bring that to the club, in some games we've seen the potential of it. If we get the right players in during January it can work.

We have to work on grinding out results and we have to improve but we can't just throw in the towel in January.

As we're talking about all these "facts", how about this one - we've played Falkirk twice and failed to beat them. Falkirk have scored more than a quarter of their goals this season against us in two games.

We still don't have a leader on the park and it shows.

Well said Danni, you dont half talk some sense:50:

I agree with everything you said, in my eyes Mowbray has made only 2 mistakes so far.

    1) Getting money to spend on a striker and buying Fortune (we needed a goal scorer)

    2) Selling Caldwell. This one is debateable but he was our best defender. If either Loovens or Jos gets injured at the moment - we are in trouble. Saying that there's still time for another CB to come in this window, if not I think we are in trouble.

I say give Mowbray another season if we lose this - our spoilt fans will never let it happen though.

You're absolutely spot on. That amongst other problems, we are more or less playing a 2-4-4 system, Hinkel is our top assist with 10 goals, our full backs play too far up the park leaving our center halves exposed, the worlds 2 best center half's coudnt play well in TM's system. We have no central defensive pairing, no central midfield pairing, no striking partnership. In short there is no spine in the team. We should have kept hartley or robson to play in the hole between the defence in midfield but Mowbry sold them. The only players we had with bite. My biggest gripe with Mowbrys rain is he spent £3.8 million on a striker who at no time during his career has scored any more than 9 goals in a season throughout his entire career. Thats insanity! Why did the board grant this signing?

So far i would say its tonys only mistake as far as players go,unless fortune gets better then its going to be a black mark against tony for a while.
I think the reason caldwell was sold was he wanted to much money,at that point it was out of tonys hands and down to the boards so i wouldnt blame the manager for that.
Where does the o.p. get all their FACTS.....?
He needs more time i aint happy with the way our teams is playing but to sack the manager is just daft,it would get celtic and the fans no where.
Give the guy time....he still has alot of crap players to offload.
His biggest mistake i would think is the way he is to open with the press, saying we need 10 new players just kills the team and most of them will be thinking....oh well * you i'm not trying if your selling me.

Some people think that when TM publicly slated the team thats when it went downhill, i'm sorry. . . but didn't we all get fed up with WGS blowing smoke up players arses when they played utter * & the performance was awful? We cried out for more honesty in the management & don't dare disrespect the fans! So we all got what we wanted a new manager & new players, still not happy? No! we want it better & quicker than half a season! Yes its a kick in the balls not being able to beat spl pond life at home, but there has been alot of changes at celtic park & a settled side we don't have. I personally think this season is out of our reach, but we had to sort the wheat from chaff. TM will stay till the end of the season at least! It Would cost us too much to get rid, anyway truth be told we have a better squad than last season. Fact is we should be doing much better than we currently are. So who's to blame?? Buck stops with the manager, thats true if the guy has actually had a go at managing the team long enough. We will & should get better! The huns won't drop many points apart from against us. Even if we lose the league, try & back the team?

    Exactly patto.

Really disappoints me, Celtic fans are saying this at * January. I never wanted Mowbray but he's trying to built a team which are built on sand, foundations being players like McManus, Caldwell and Loovens.

I had a rant on this yesterday and got my thread closed but I still feel the same way the smorning the fans have let themselfs down big time.

I believe this is spot on and in response to those who call it knee * reaction get the blinkers of! is last year not enough for you!
See if their was evidence that we were starting to gel show form or any positive signs, but for every step forward this team takes it takes two back.
Bar the central midfield pairing opf crosas and nguemo their is no successful partnerships on the park. We have tried numerous central defensive partnerships and none have been close to looking decent never mind solid we are half way through the season and have hardly conceeded a goal where the other teams play has created it rather than our mistakes, honestly in defence its school boy stuff week in week out not professional not clever.
Also up front samaras plays school boy stuff running around chasing the ball then gives up wonders around totally out of position. How can any one form a partnership with him its just a joke.
Organisation is at the core of every succesful team a shape, a particular formation if we are in a period of transaction this would be starting to emerged and it seems to be getting further away.

I knew TM would * it up, he is a loser, he cannot motivate players, and is tacticaly naive, i think we should let him go now, and bust the bank to get in MARK HUGHES!:31:

Why don't you bite the bullet Rosario.

This is a complete joke. I'm getting increasingly disillusioned with our so called support each passing day.

And Richmal Mark Hughes? If I remember he is the guy who took wales to the world cup and won it? The guy who got into the CL with Blackburn then won the EPL the next season? The guy who took the richest club in the world EVER and dominated world football with it?
