Sure it was reported that they took up the option to buy that we had put in.

Scepovic could have been a very good player sadly he made it obvious from day 1 he hated Scotland and didn't wanna play here so * him

Honestly I looked at Scep a bit differently after the second half of that season. He did seem lethargic when he first arrived and didn't have much of an impact, but as the season wore on he seemed to me to be more involved with his teammates and seemed alot more alive on the pitch. I look at him and then remember Pukki. I was always a fan of Pukki but he never seemed to be engratiated with the team or comfortable at Celtic. Never seemed to enjoy it. At least with Scep he seemed to gel well with the team and got into it when scoring goals ect. Either way... He didnt fit the Scottish game and I'm glad he's seemingly away and that we've made $ on the sale, altho it still hasn't been confirmed.

CELTIC are set to make a £1million loss on flop striker Stefan Scepovic after it emerged Getafe are obliged to make his loan deal permanent.

The Serb, who scored just six goals in 26 games following his £2.3m switch from Gijon last summer, has returned to La Liga for the rest of the season.

And Getafe president Angel Torres has revealed his club will pay £1.3m next summer to make the move permanent.

Scepovic vows he’ll come good at his new club and said: “I don’t feel pressure to be a success. I can deal with it and will do my talking on the pitch.”

the money for scep and money for richards who was a free should make up for what we spent on scep if we can get 2.5 for cifcti be great hopefully goes back into the team you would like to think keep stokes and griffiths and go get all round striker for the money its the wages thats a stumbling block for celtic they dont want to pay anyone over the 25 grand mark

What I don't understand about this move is why didn't he wait till Rodgers had assessed the squad?

Ciftci's team got relegated so I'd guess there unlikely to sign him permanent he won't be cheap wage wise

I always thought scepovic was hard done by here. More so (unpopular opinion) with commons playing.
Seemed to be scepovic played a cetysi way here (as did pukki to a degree) where he played in and around the box, his runs were good and he liked to play off the shoulder, great player for a 2 up top style. But every run he made in to great space and pulling defenders out, commons was one of the worst ones to be greedy and not utilise his movements.

Always had the impression that some players never took to him and wanted to not help his game out. Certainly was a better option at times, if our players worked with him instead of against him.

The wages is one major thing we need to break. No one is suggesting we pay 25 players in excess of 25k, but we need to accept that the next step up for us is 4-5million players of good quality and they want 25-35k a week. 3 or 4 of them in the squad to just take us up that next level will all but guarantee the champions league group stage and a good showing in it. Money comes back from it and do it over a few years and we could perhaps make a squad with 6 or 7 of that standard.
That level is attainable here, where our quality will see us always break in to the last 16, with perhaps a luck of the draw round, or if very unlucky a drop to Europa with a squad capable of going to the semis.

Scepovic side just got relegated as well...

Glad we're getting rid of substandard players, expect more to follow..

Brendan will have provisionally asesessed the squad and hopefully we'll get a much needed injection of quality up top..

    Hopefully add two strikers now..

Because his issues have nothing to do with Deila, Rodgers, Celtic or even if he was playing or not. He simply doesn't fancy Scotland, and most likely realised he'd made a mistake soon after signing.

But mind Virgil wanted away but we wouldn't let him. I think JC Anton is probably right that Rodgers has provisionally assessed the squad and said it was ok for him to leave.

It's ironic he realised he'd made a mistake after signing.

Scep should never have been signed after he tried to knock us back

I think he has signed up for them now. But the international window opens on the 20th of June in Brazil so we'll get official confirmation then.
