What i stated is true, cocaine is as highly addictive as heroin , and there is plenty of medical evidence to back it up, i dont know where you got your medical facts from. Because coke is seen as an acceptable recreational drug, rather than smack being the junkies choice of addiction. Coke is seen as the glamourous drug of choice for people who think its alright to snort some at the weekends and have it under control, this is not the case, it is like any other narcotic it is addictive, i know i've been there.
I have to deal with it every day i work as a nurse, cokeheads are now becoming more and more admited to hospital as smack abusers are, due to overdose, or due to fights, and hurting themselves, coke is being injected these days, with people loosing limbs because of this *.
Coke and its derivatives are becoming more acceptable for recreational use, and people see it that way, it has less of a stigma attatched to it unlike smack, its becoming more of a social problem than what it used to due to the fact its in much more of a demand, easy to aquire, and alot cheaper that what it used to do.

I am not against recreational drug use, just be careful, and know when to stop before its too late.

Each to their own if you ask me... I have tried most drugs and don't regret a second, when I get old and sitting round with my old pals I want to look back and say yes I did it all and I enjoyed every bit of it. Yeah some people are against drugs/drink etc and fine for them but dont critisise people to enjoy doing these things in moderation.... drugs are bad but bad things are sometimes the most fun!

Well said, looks as if we are in the same area of work. Some people as in the abortion thread aswell clearly dont have a clue when it comes to serious posts such as this.

Ive done cocaine the odd time and i have to say ive enjoyed it. It gives a good club buzz and didnt leave me on a bad comedown. Ive never done vast amounts in one night just a few lines and ive had deadly nights. Im not trying to recommend its just my experience.

its nowhere near as bad as Ecstacy. that leaves you in a state.

I have reached the ripe old age of 27 and only about 4 lines have dissapeared up my nose. I was never a drugs fan, liked a bit of a smoke now and again, I have always been more of a drinker.

I had a little epiphany a few years ago and decided that if I was going to judge anyone or anything, I would have to give it a go 1st. Dont get me wrong, I liked the Charlie when I did it, no comedown, no hangover. To be honest, it was the money that kept me off it, and I know that probably sounds terrible. Seemed like a total rip off to me.

I have just recently found out a friend of mine has a bit of a problem with the stuff though, and its actually getting me down. Shes a great, fun loving type of person, but after a weekend of partying she crashes hard, and I mean hard.

After listening to her, I will be steering clear from now on. Buckfast, Beer and maybe the odd J will be my limit from now on. Maybe, just maybe, a wee "Sweetie" if I find myself out clubbing.

Although, at 27, I havent been clubbing for about 3 years !!

I don't even take it! I've already said in this thread that i don't like it (having tried it a couple of times) or the effects it has on other users in a social situation.

Scientifically speaking though there is stonewall evidence to say that heroin is more addictive than cocaine. By that i mean you have to take far less of it to become addicted. If you are saying it is just as addictive as heroin to get off of once you are addicted then that may be a different argument.

The difference is that there are far more recreational cocaine users in this country than there are heroin users. I don't worry about my mates taking coke because they are doing it on a Friday night, feeling rough int he morning but going to work on a Monday and having a normal life, relationships etc.. They take it as they enjoy it and it adds to their night out. These people aren't robbing houses or mugging Grannies for a fix and i think it should be acknowledged that the vast majority of users are like this.

Me personally when I do take it I could quite easily snort 1 to 2 gs in a night and honestly feel no urge or need to take it the next day I am not saying this is the case for everyone though that is just me personally.

I dont know if you should be blanket calling everyone who drinks/smoke/takes drugs losers mate. Each to there own is what I say, you have your opinions, and obviously you feel strongly against it, but insults are maybe a little below the belt. :50:

Thats a great point, i used to despise drugs when i was younger, always swore id never take them. As you get older you realise that most of that * you hear is propaganda(which is right to tell kids) and its not half as bad. maybe cocaines slightly different but nowhere near as bad as some people think it is. The major trouble ive found is it gets people in debt big time but i know people doing it for years who have never had that problem, it depends on the person i suppose. weed should be legalised.
