    Didn’t succeed in Bulgaria, true. He is proven in Scottish top league though, where the type of play is different to any continental country. I think he could score 30 goals in all competitions in a season for Celtic, if he played every match.

    I think the problem here is that in 2001 we signed John Hartson for £6m. At this time Sheridan would never get a look in. The equivalent player’s now are Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch, who we might be able to afford in transfer fees, but who earn each around £70k per week.

    The lad has 36 CAREER goals and you think he could score 30 in a season for us. Get real mate, he was an average player at us nothing more. He looked OK for Kilmarnock and St Johnstone because that is his level.

    He should never even come close to making a return for us.

    OK, exaggeration. 25 goals all competitions, maybe, if he played approx 50 matches. Hopefully with Griffiths scoring 35 though. It’s not all about goals, Sutton often scored about 10 – 20 goals a season. He is the same type of player but with pace. He is still only 24, he could get better. You have to see potential, not just what he has done so far, otherwise no youth team player will ever get a game for Celtic ever again. I am not saying he could be as good as Sutton, just as Griffiths won’t be as good as Larsson, but this combination can be a success.

    Shouldn't have been given a little bit more time at the club as a youngster, I still find it difficult to explain why, after coming to football late but still showing some promise, he was sold at 21 for £150,000 and replaced by a guy who never scored goals and was actually behind him in the international pecking order for £1.5m
