I expected an £8mill player to hit the ground from day 1....after all he was our "star buy" ?

You can’t have Lawwell down as a penny pinching accountant and the kind of guy who goes out and spends £7m on a defender just for the craic.

It’s obvious Lennon wanted him. He went with a tried and (somewhat) trusted partnership in Ajer and Jozo which is actually understandable. That said, I would’ve preferred Julien had played more and had at least layer the foundation for a partnership with Ajer by this stage.

We are out because lennon didn't wanna drop favourites it's that simple didn't wanna drop ntcham so move mcgregor out of position didn't wanna drop simo when jullien probably more fit seeing as simo took a knock and has a dodgy knee utter shambles at the minute...

There were more than enough opportunities to bring him up to match fitness. If 2 months of training and several potential first team games wasn’t sufficient then we might as well just call it a day just now.

And what’s to say that wasn’t under lawells instructions ? Look, I hope I’m reading more into this than I should but something just doesn’t feel right about the whole thing.

Julien was not up to this match and if anyone says he was they clearly did not watch the game against Motherwell, He is still miles off it and it was clear to see. He needs to get up to speed and get there quick

He is not going to get up to speed if he is not playing, needs game time. We need to get the back line settled very quickly. Against Dunfermline we have to go with Boli, Ajer, Jullien and Elhamed at the back

If you’re right, then you’d have to assume that Lennon has agreed that Lawwell would be making the signings when signing his contract then.

I don’t believe that to be the case.

In an ideal world yes. But in fairness to Julian he was way behind pre-season wise when we signed him. I imagine he will start tomorrow and play the 90- minutes so hopefully he will be fully up to speed within the next week or so and playing tomorrow should help a lot I would think.

Lenny clearly rates Simunovic and he was excellent in the run in last season, so he was over cautious with getting Julien up to speed, it was a mistake..

Ajer and Julien will prove to be an exceptional and formidable partnership..

what is it > not enough any games or not enough top level games ?

if players arent ready for first team do they not get played in the reserve team to up their match fitness and sharpness obviously not as good as 1st team but not completely useless either

am i not right in saying he came on in sarejevo ? id have thought that would have been the start of him getting a run of games in the first team

Well you can considering we only broke our transfer record last summer and then big Chris coming in for good money this year.

We have brought in massive amounts of money over the last 5/6 seasons and make a massive profit with Zero net spend.

We have been crying out for additions at the back for a number of years and his hand was forced this summer regarding players leaving.

Now we have even less players at the back and he has been slower than a week in the jail to further help Lennon with players and this has lead to Lennon looking like a right daft * in interviews and having to back track.

Agree with that. I think Lennon would've been better coming out and saying that though, taking a little accountability. It would kill conspiracy theories of Julien not being his man.

He needs to play tomorrow then stay in the team alongside Ajer.

True, but he also said Jullien was brought in to be a first choice centre half.

Aye, no just that....i'm sure he actually said it would be Jullien and one other as if he would be the main man back there..

Aye it was folly not to have him up to speed, we should have had a friendly in between the Kalju games.

No beating around the bush, he was bad today. Only real excuse was the whole team bar 1 or 2 played poor and the shape was terrible. I guess i'd rather he get that sort of performance out his system against Dunfermline than AIK or the huns

He was vulgar today in general.

Although there were some moments I thought he did well.

Looks so far off the pace it's unbelievable.
