There seems to be a wee myth growing he can’t pass the ball and honestly it was one of the best things about him, with either foot.

Not sure about that at all, his passing is OK, nothing brilliant..

We may never see if its good enough for Ange..

Surprised that Julien hasn't gotten much game time despite being on the bench for 6/7 weeks now.

Can only guess Ange just doesn't rate him that highly.

I think it's down to not wanting to disrupt the settled defence

Aye. Out for well over a year. He was never going to return and be thrown in unless we had an injury crisis. Even taking into account he'll have to earn his spot, it makes sense to bring him back in slowly.

I would renew his contract. Need to remember that he was our best CB before this season and have some potential.

But only if he is fully recovered from his injury.

Naturally. However, if you have a centre back returning that is head and shoulders above the current CB's, then you'd be giving him game time to get him quickly settled to improve the side.

As I said, Ange obviously doesn't see Julien as being a better CB than Starfelt or CCV or else he'd have made an effort to give him more game time.

I'm a bit surprised, possibly tinted glasses, but I remember Julien being a decent CB and arguably better than Starfelt and CCV. But I trust Ange's judgement that he has either regressed due to injury or just isn't as good as I remember.

CELTIC stopper Christopher Jullien has confessed there was a dark moment during his agonising injury lay-off when he “couldn’t see the end”.

The Hoops’ second costliest ever signing - £7 million from Toulouse in 2019suffered a cruciate ligament injury after horribly colliding against the post while making a desperate goal-line clearance against Dundee United at Parkhead on December 30, 2020

It would keep Jullien – a Treble winner in his debut campaign with the Hoops – out of action until a highly emotional comeback as a sub in February’s home 4-0 Scottish Cup win over Raith Rovers.

It would only be 16 minutes of action – but it still meant the world to the giant defender who quickly became a fans favourite, scoring the winning goal against Rangers in the League Cup final in December, 2019.

And the 29-year-old was given a stunning ovation from the Celtic Supporters .

He’s not played again since as he battles to get back in Ange Postecoglou’s side, with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt first choice central defenders and performing strongly.

But Jullien’s just glad to be in contention once more with his injury * behind him.

Speaking at a player meet-and-greet event hosted by JD in Glasgow, he admitted the injury that kept him side-lined for so long provided a real test of his resolve.

He said: “I didn’t feel too good because I couldn’t see the end of it.

“In total, it was one year and a half.

It was really long and I definitely wouldn’t wish it on anyone in football because when you are playing you sometimes don’t pick up injuries.

But when it happens you just have to be strong mentally and to keep looking forward.

“You just want to come back, to kick the ball, and to enjoy your life and that’s what I’m trying to do again.”

Jullien was joined by fellow teammates James McCarthy, Mikey Johnston, and Stephen Welsh as around 100 lucky fans got to meet some of their heroes up close in an intimate event at JD’s Argyle Street store.

In the wake of The Bhoys’ incredible derby win at the weekend, the players all took questions from the audience in a 30 minute Q&A session, before meeting the fans up close, signing merchandise and taking photos.

Starting to think his career here could be over, I'd have put him on instead if Welsh tbf, neither have played much but surely Jullien would be first pick to come on.
