Lots of mixed reports regarding this, he has enlisted to play for a military team and served time there.

No doubt the club are doing their due diligence to determine if that is enough before investing £2m+ in him.

Agent confirms in talks with Celtic

 

Cho Kyu-seong (24, Jeonbuk Hyundai)’s destination for the next season has emerged as a hot potato.

On the 2nd, Cho Kyu-seong's agent said, "We are currently discussing with the Scottish Celtic club," and denied Turkiye's move to Galasatarai SK, which was reported in various media this morning.

According to Kyu-Sung Cho's agent, Kyu-Sung Cho is planning an overseas transfer for his new challenge. He was selected as the top scorer in the K-League in the 2022 season and left an impressive scene at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Cho Kyu-seong is being courted by many overseas clubs that have been recognized for his performance. So far, clubs that have expressed interest in recruiting Cho are known as Celtic, a prestigious club in Scotland, Fenerbahce SK, a prestigious club in Turkey, and Stade Rennes in France.

The current market value of Cho Kyu-sung is estimated at 2.2 million pounds (approximately 3.3 billion won). This is about four times the transfer fee Jeonbuk used to recruit Cho Kyu-sung in 2020. (At the time, the transfer fee was 880 million won)

Meanwhile, the front desk of the Jeonbuk club revealed that they were worried because the transfer fee proposed by Celtic did not meet expectations.

Jeonbuk received 10 billion won for Kim Min-jae's transfer fee in 2018 and 1.2 billion won for Lee Jae-seong's transfer fee. Accordingly, Jeonbuk expressed their will to deal with it carefully by adhering to their intention not to engage in a losing business as a rising star player.

However, Cho Kyu-seong has a strong desire to move abroad. Therefore, it is predicted that the transfer time for Cho Kyu-seong will be decided in the winter transfer market at the earliest or the next summer transfer window at the earliest.
