Any of you been watching this? Quite a shocking mini-series (5 parts) but it's well worth the watch.
I always had a basic understanding of the event, but if this series is anywhere near close to historically accurate then it's truly horrific how many died due to ignorance and failure to act.

Excellent series.
Wonderful way to highlight the horrors of bureaucracy stomping all over the facts and human life in the process.
EDIT: to add that the only thing I would change is having this in Russian with English subtitles.Blochairnbhoy, JordyBhoy and Fontaine like this. -
Seen trailer,a true story,looks like a thriller,horror theme to it.Looks really good.

Yeah, that's a great point actually. Me and the Mrs were discussing that and three episodes in I've just accepted it. But I agree, Russian with English subs would've been better.Callum McGregor likes this.

It's incredible, I wish I had waited until all 5 episodes were out so I could binge it.
I agree with the fact it should have been in Russian though, I almost turned it off quite early into the first episode as all the different accents kind of took me out of it at first. -

I have always had an interest in Chernobyl but the focus has always been on what happened after. It's interesting to know what happened at the time and it is pretty uncomfortable, dark but compelling viewing.

Agree that this should have been in Russian with subtitles. It loses authenticity the story is set in Russia but they all speak English.
The BBC version of Les Miserables earlier in the year was the same. 1800s France but they all have English accents. A bit silly. -

Yeah so far so good, wasn’t overly impressed with first episode, the English speaking means it lacks a sense of realism, but the last two episodes have been good and now actually looking forward to next one.
