We are in no hurry to appoint manager. Chelsea were obviously in rush to make decision on coach appointment.

How many reason do you want?

He had talks with Romanov about a year ago.
He has been lined up well before that.
Celtic and Chelsea are sadly a world apart these days.
He will be on a mass amount of money.
They need him to win the CL.

What a silly question, and who is to say it will even work out for them?

sorry but i think we should be in a hurry, i think it can only be a good thing to get a manger quickly so he has more time to get used to the team etc and it would be better now as we have to qualify for the CL

You're right about that, but the board isn't very interested to make this happen as soon as possible. As you said, new manager needs time to settle. Look at it this way: if we take time over decision, maybe better offer can come by for a new guy. Look at the bright side.:50:

    Get real, people.

I can't believe that anyone can seriously think 8 days is too long for a big European football club to spend looking for their next manager.

The last thing we want is just to get someone in as quick as possible in a mad rush for the Champions League qualifiers. Whoever we get won't have enough time to remould the team by then anyway, we quite possibly won't get thru in either case, and then we're stuck with the wrong guy for the whole (probably unsuccessful) season, and then we're back looking for someone this time next year.

Our club has only had two managers this decade. Both of them have been appointed under the same ownership, in the same way. Both of them have been among the most successful managers in Celtic's history.

If we have to spend a month - or two months - working on landing the right candidate then that's fine by me.

    Well said.

It takes as long as it takes, and as long as we get the right man for the job that's all we should be concerned with - not how long it is taking to appoint a new manager.

the difference is chelsea will appoint any big name available that in itself is reckelss where as we are thinking about the future although it can seem frustrating.
