I've said it many times on here but this is the route we should go down.

Don't say it's because the referees are "Rangers" supporters - you won't get anywhere.
Don't say it's "the establishment club" - you won't get anywhere.
    Don't say it's "anti-Irish/anti-Catholic" agenda - you won't get anywhere.

Mention any of the above to anyone and you will simply be ignored as a conspiracy theorist. It's a waste of time and plays into their hands.

If you want these "statistical anomalies" to stop, here's what to do.

Assert that an "unconscious bias" has crept in to Scottish football which is clearly supported by the statistics. The cause of the bias is a concern over the financial stability of The Rangers.

This is an easily accessible idea to everyone. You don't need to explain a 100 year old sectarianism problem. You just need to explain that Scottish football, including the referees, lost a fucktonne of money 10 years ago when the old club liquidated. I mean for * sake, our TV and sponsorship deals are based on them and us being in the league.

There are clear statements from the new club that they are struggling financially. This is more than enough to introduce an unconscious bias and that is what we are seeing at the weekend. Clearly if a referee still remembers the liquidation event and there are hints it will happen again, then subconsciously they will be hoping The Rangers can win the league and put their financial trouble behind them, since it would be better for everyone, including the referees themselves.

It's an easily accessible idea, supported by the evidence and demonstrated in the statistics. It's a problem that needs to be addressed, and the beauty of it is you can address it without it being anyone's fault.

Celtic should be going all in on this, because if they don't we simply won't keep winning leagues. Those statistics are terrifying. You cannot expect to win titles when the other team is given such a huge advantage.

Everytime I read threads like this it * boils my *.

Just the * brass neck of it all, and we (the club) just take it.

Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, the club have been working behind the scenes, compiling a dossier of evidence for when we nail these * to the wall for DECADES of cheating.

When’s the last time we hand a league penalty when the games been tight? We always seem to be atieast a couple up when we get them.

We were only 1 up against Dundee United in January, but were still winning the game. 1 nil up against St Mirren in the cup too, but the guy stopped a goal with his hand. The ref had to give it. January last season Hibs only 1 up and October 21 against Livingston when GG missed in 93rd minute, 0-0.

What frightens me more is not so much the amount of penalties we get or don’t get, it the amount given against us and the difference between us and the Huns

I think that they haven’t conceded a penalty this season or most or last the amount of games is quite high if I remember and even the law of averages say that you’ll concede at least two or three in a season.

Just saw this elsewhere, ‘honest * mistakes’, aye right.

32% of Celtic goals conceded in the League this season have been penalties.
0% of Rangers goals conceded in the League this season have been penalties.

how long will our board put up with ‘anyone but Celtic’. And aye we got a var penalty against St Mirren BUT ONLY when the game was WON.

It's already been noted in this thread also. It's a bit hard for Sevco to concede goals from pens when not a single pen has been awarded against them this season. :87:

In fact Celtic have been penalized 6 times this season which is more than have been awarded against Sevco in total (5) over the past 4 seasons combined (2019/20 til now).

And Sevco have not had a pen awarded against them at Ipox since Sept 2019.

But of course nothing at all wrong and nothing to see here with any of these stats. :/

Think there would be a bigger out cry from the club and supporters if the league was tighter say 3 points between the teams .
But you can see a pattern here every weekend with both games Celtic get weird var decisions against them and the zombies getting their Automatic penalty every week and also penalties not given against them also .
The Celtic team is so good just now we can overcome this blatant cheating but things can change if the zombie team gets better and we as a club from a winning position just now should have said something by now about what's going on with some of the mason refs .
Think that's every handball this season by a Celtic player a penalty has been given against us but we have the zombie player Goldson on three occasions now a handball and no penalties against them .

2 out of the last 3 league games at Ibrox they've had penalties for handball where the ball doesn't even hit the arm, never mind all the unnatural position * that goes into handball decisions now. Collum referee both times.

I’m with you on this, either take one to the face or you turn your head/back. By turning your head or back it leaves the attacker in an advantageous position, either by shooting or being able to dummy and make room for a better shot. Letting a defender put their hands up gives the defender an advantage, which is plain wrong.

Just updating/keeping track of these things...
    • 0 league pen against Sevco in 2 of the past 3 seasons (2020/21 & 2022/23).
    • 0 league pen against Sevco at Ipox since 14 Sept 2019.
    • Last 5 completed seasons in total plus the start of this one (4 games played) just 7 spotkicks conceded...
    2 (18/19), 2 (19/20), 0 (20/21), 3 (21/22), 0 (22/23), 0* (23/24)
    • Including the first 4 games this season that is 7 pen against in 224 league games. You do the math. It's nearly 1 pen against per every 31 league games played.
    • Celtic pens conceded in that same 5 year period... 23 (9 of which was just last season alone - which is 2 more in the one season (all since VAR) that Sevco have been pinched in total over the last 5 completed seasons combined!
    4 (18/19), 3 (19/20), 5 (20/21), 2 (21/22), 9 (22/23), 0* (23/24)

In terms of penalties awarded in their favour...

Since 2017/18, Sevco have been given 47 league spotkicks. Celtic have been awarded 35.

    Sevco 7 (17/18), 11 (18/19), 3 (19/20), 9 (20/21), 7 (21/22), 10 (22/23)
    Celtic 3 (17/18), 6 (18/19), 5 (19/20), 7 (20/21), 7 (21/22), 7 (22/23)

    Plus this season 2023/24
    Sevco 0*
    Celtic 1*

They've got a cheek to say that the refs, SFA and the SPFL are all RC's and that everyone is against them etc. and there was me thinking that they don't care (as in the line of another one of their sectarian song goes).

Aye the funny thing is whenever they lose its the refs against them. Stats tell a very different story.

We've been awarded 41 penalties in these 7 seasons, they've had 57. We've conceded 24, they've conceded 16. So they've had 16 more penalties than us and 8 less against them even though we have been above them in the League 6 out of 7 seasons.

2016-now Penalty Difference in Celtic/Sevco/Aberdeen/Hibs/Hearts games against each other in the League

    Awarded
    22 Sevco (13 Aberdeen, 6 Hibs, 2 Hearts, 1 Celtic)
    19 Aberdeen (7 Hibs, 5 Celtic, 4 Hearts, 3 Sevco)
    19 Hearts (8 Celtic, 7 Aberdeen, 4 Hibs)
    17 Celtic (8 Hibs, 4 Hearts, 3 Aberdeen, 2 Sevco)
    14 Hibs (5 Aberdeen, 4 Hearts, 3 Celtic, 2 Sevco)

    Conceded
    28 Aberdeen
    25 Hibs
    17 Celtic
    14 Hearts
    7 Sevco

    Penalty Difference
    +15 Sevco
    +5 Hearts
    0 Celtic
    -9 Aberdeen
    -11 Hibs

These stats clearly show the helping hands the huns get in these bigger games and the holding back they do to us in them as well.

We are at a 1 penalty defecit against Aberdeen, Hibs and Hearts over 8 years, we've played 83 League games against those 3 teams from 2016-now and scored 116 goals more against them than they have us yet they've had 1 more penalty against us than we have against them

Its plain cheating. End of.im 62. Theyve been * cheating since as long as i can remember. Cnuts.but if you play in a game where you know the dice are loaded you deserve all you get.we do it every season and only for us factoring in the cheating to buy better players to offset it we would be losing every time.we either call it out EVERY time or we leave or we stay and get shafted. It would be interesting to see the sfa reaction if we actually handed in our 2 year notice to leave. Im not investing my passion anymore when i know we start in a rigged game. Try this anomoly guys.if i were a ref called seamus o shaunessy was an ex celtic season ticket holder drank in graces after every old firm game when we beat them.was a member of a republican movement and got a lift to the games in a celtic supporters bus do you honestly think the huns would be ok with that. They are happy with beaton et al doing this. doesnt work like that. We need to get real. We shouldnt be saying we won the league despite the cheating. HH

An update of the Penalty difference since 2000/01-now

Penalty difference in the League 2000-01 till 2011/12 and then 2016-17 till now (All seasons with one of the Huns in the League)

Celtic +75 penalty difference (Penalties awarded minus penalties conceded)
    Huns +110 penalty difference

During those seasons Celtic have had 151 more points than them and 186 goal difference better than them. Celtic have topped the League in 14 of the 20 seasons.

So on average Celtic get 7.6 points per season more, have +9.3 goal difference better and the huns on average get 1.8 penalties in their favour more than us every season.

So of the 23 goals we've conceded this season? Roughly 7 have been pens?

That is madness when considering the huns record.

It also * shows you the fine margins we are operating under this season with the board * around and waiting to find out.

Each pen could have been a point we could have saved. We'd be out of sight in the league. But yet here we are with 1 goal between us and the huns a game in hand.

Those stats are shocking but * * the board are seriously failing this club by refusing to build at a level that no other domestic rival can match.
