Charlie Mulgrew

Kayal is gone murph , he doesn't get a look in no matter what and sometimes the case might only be, the face doesn't fit..

He's more than played his way in to a run of games and something behind the.scenes somewhere, something isn't right..

 

For me he still has a lot to offer us but there must be something..

Even at full time today he patted rooney and * off towards the tunnel while all staff and playing side went over across going daft with the fans..

He had a moment last year when he was revealing his time was up but he looked over that, maybe not..

 

Aye you might well be right mate. It's the only real reason for it, because Mulgrew has been dreadful recently yet has still been picked over him.

 

Rotten seeing Mulgrew go through such a bad patch, he's a leader and its clear he is held highly by the managing staff and players. Brilliant Celtic man as well.

 

It is * especially when it's die hard tims going through a bad patch..

When you think of it like that it must be a killer when your seeing hearing and feeling it more than anyone, easy to forget that..

I should take note of that..

The only reason I could think he would be in the team is set pieces corners etc until recentley a great crosser of the ball... Now not so much! he isnt really taking free kicks or anything anymore so what's the point ? Why is he in the team constantly

 

Shouldn't even be in the squad never mind team sheet !! Guy thinks he's Pirlo and he's quite simply no ! Was amazing centre half for a season then * it up

In all seriousness, Mulgrew doesn't have frustrate me sometimes

He'll play well and then will be pish next time out

He needs to be more consistent

 

wish he wasn't paying * , cause I do like him and think he would/should fit our system by sitting an letting the wing backs push up and dictating play don't know if he thinks he's better than what he is??

 

Am I the only one who thinks he's playing well? Bringing balance to the squad, helping us defensively and providing a base for Johansen to push forward on?

 

He's definitely letting Johanssen get forward more often which is great. However, his passing is shocking. I would actually like to see Efe play his position and try and get someone in in January.

Mulgrew divides my opinion I know he's a good player but has had some shocking games ( as did everyone tbf ) he's definitely someone you would want as a squad player but he's definitely no where near 1st name on the team sheet for me but when he's on form he's one of are best

 

he seems to be playing a bit better now than at the start of the season decent squad player

 

Generally likes to keep his passes simple but the amount of times he has tried to pass the ball across defence this season and given it away is really worrying.

Like the guy but he's not a midfielder in my opinion.

 

Johansen return to form coincides with Charlie being back in the team..

Seems to be right down the pecking order when it comes to set pieces..

Charlie lack of pace has seen him exposed lots this season..

We need to strengthen the midfield, for now he is a must pick as he's better than other options we have, including Kayal..who has looked decent to be fair when he has come into the side.. Hope Kayal seizes his chance with Browns suspension..

Mixed bag for Charlie but he understands the club and is an important figure in the dressing room..
